If I recall correctly, I originally desired to make something more detailed/complex than the result before finishing the sketch; I think I considered making the neck start to branch out into the wheel/head rather than remain as it is in addition to wanting more complex geometry of the wheel bits, but when I proceeded to sketch it out, I ending up opting to keep it more simplistic to get to painting it out before succumbing to perfectionism in planning as I often find difficulty in overcoming.
I deem it to be an amateurish, beginner work; I can see some errors and mistakes of technique, particularly with texture (it looks muddy in many parts, particularly on the grey wheel) and the internal ethereal glow, but other aspects such as color seemed mostly okay. I've just left it at this so that I'm reminded of my painterly mistakes going forward.
I should note that I used the default brushes in Krita 5, specifically wet brushes for the most part, to paint this. They seemed okay to use at the time, but I realized I might need better brushes for further work so I've gone and picked up some add-on brush+resource packs for Krita, namely the
Rakurri set, as there are some ideas that I might try painting for.
