My simple pleasure used to be cheesemaking until my dopehead buddy lost the farm and all his money, and fled the country. I still have a bunch of his busted up power tools lying around in my garage that I'll never use.
I don't even have time to make moonshine anymore cause work + wife.
Walking my dog around the outside of the house when the dew is still on the grass.
When my dog wants pets/attention/to play, he gives me big puppy eyes (I call them his baby browns.)
Whenever I wake up and get ready to let him out, he loves to run around and be rambunctious. Sometimes he barks at me while wagging his tail, lol. I can never stay mad at him for too long
I like doing puzzles and sudoku.
My dog, really. He could be a service animal if he wasn't so territorial over me, but he's kept me safe more times than I can count.
Nice, cold water first thing in the morning.
We have birdfeeders in the back yard. Have you ever seen baby birds out on their first day flying? Woodpeckers especially; they will jump on everything to see if it's solid and peck at things to see if it has food. They bounce and hop around, not quite trusting their wings. They will come right up to you just to see what you are all about. I can understand how myths of fairies came about watching them bounce around and play. Just pure joy..
I have a dog and there are several types of squirrels, and chipmunks. There's a black squirrel with a really scraggly tail that bullies everyone except my dog. If she sees one she will watch it and sneak up on it slowly like a cat, if they run she chases them up the tree but they've gotten used to her and will sneak back down. Once she feels they have been too bold and she will just plop herself down by the bird feeder and sit. The little birds don't care though and will peck around the ground around her. The smaller birds are fearless. I want to try to hand feed them some time. I've had them land on the feeder as I was putting it up.
There is a Blue Jay that comes by that sounds like a squeaky clothes line.
There was a spider that kept making a web that would always smack me in the head when I walk by, so I relocated the spider off to the side in a tree and the web looks like a Halloween decoration, especially when it's foggy in the morning and catches the dew.
Mourning Doves are flighty and just opening the door will set them off.
We have hummingbird feeders up and they don't come by often, but they do feed the bees as well.
I usually let my dog dictate how long she is out there. Sometimes she will spend hours sniffing, other times she'll do her thing and go in but I haven't noticed because I'm just sitting in the chair watching the birds.
There's a whole soap opera going on in my backyard and it's awesome.
I like drawing cats on my favorite website edges2cats like my avatar and also Doodles in MS paint and other collages and things. I have shown these before but here they are again. All of my edges2cats Cats can be found on my website so i wont post them again here
It's a cat i doodled many years ago. He is playing with a ball of yarn or human organ
It's a Richard Scarry inspired cat-head chestplate from GaoGaiGar (a giant japanese cartoon robot that turns into a cat and a stealth bomber and a train and a cat with a stealth bomber on its back and a robot with a cat head on its chest and a stealth bomber on its back and a train for shoulders):
another Richard Scarry inspired piece of artwork.
It's a mischievous looking hallucination (when I close my eyes I see cats there in the darkness. Sometimes I see other things, too)
It's me in a Human Suit, working the controls!
I was explaining my medical Condition (microbones) in chat one day and somebody asked me to draw them a diagram.
The pain that I feel every single day of my life:
It's is the pokemon "Pikachu", sneaking up to bite into the spinal column of a person who is unaware, and has their back turned.
This is from the day when I SOLVED the Trolley Problem once and for all.
This is a Happiness Machine that I built out of parts I found from the busy highway road.
I think somebody else might have drawn this person. I don't know who he is. He looks dead and Burnt to a crisp.
a halloween banner I made for kiwifarms. i worked VERY hard on this image.
a christmas banner I made for kiwifarms. I worked VERY hard on this image.
This is an Alien Sigil that I see in my dreams every night. It heralds the arrival of the Boötes Void Leviathan and the unfathomably horrific annihilation of planet Earth (2032 a.d.)
ignore this one. sorry
forgot that I drew this cat, too
The last one is for the moms and dads in the audience because it is very Suggestive. I was telling the fellows in sneedchat one day about the mysterious Bone Fetish that I discovered buried in the soil beneath my shed and someone asked me to draw a picture of it because its photograph could not be successfully captured on camera:
It was a scrimshaw whittled from the baculum of some animal, likely a cryptid. It must have gotten up and ran away at some point because I haven't seen the thing in about a year. I do know that it was enchanted with a powerful curse and definitely possessed the power of ambulation so maybe it crawled back into its hole.
Kiwifarms would be one such thing. It's hard to candidly talk about things I find funny with the people I work with. What the fuck am I supposed to answer when some lady that is into reality show drama asks "and how do I watch this Eye Pee Too?"
Staying up and sleeping in. Browsing the Internet. Playing Steam, my emulators, and handhelds. Eating and cooking good food. Not going anywhere and having to deal with anyone aside from my family. Reading my books. Sculpting figurines. Stuff like that.
I don't ask for much. I just want to relax and be left alone.
Achieving a flow state with something. My preference is when I'm dicking around with my bass or guitar and really get into the groove with it. I record stuff and share it with my friends.
My apartments installed carports right outside my bedroom window and whenever it rains I like turning off whatever I'm listening to just so I can sit and listen to the rain patter off the tin roof. I actually resigned my lease this year instead of shopping around because I enjoy the sound of it so much.
I like to listen to my cat trying to catch birds and this one huge spider outside my window, getting pissed at blue tits for not coming closer for her to eat.
I interrogated my cat where is her home planet is and if user @Cats is helping illegal alien cats from that unknown planet to earth.
I grew suspicious after I learned my cat speaks multiple languages, including seagull, raven and horse.
I swear this isn't toxoplasmosis induced schizophrenia, they're trying to take over cats had good attempt with Egyptians, Muslim world and wherever man went suddenly POOF domestic cats out of nowhere, secret catnip plantations and reed grass which contains THC.
Oh where were we? I like cats and I love my 4 AM alarm clock reminding me to get fresh food, water and start my gym routine to prepare for feline army that will invade the earth to cats there is no defense. Might as well to prepare for cat killers and zoosadists who try to escape wrath of gods of old.
Jumping in the truck and going for a drive with the windows down and the music up. Doesn't matter if I actually have somewhere to be or not. Doubly pleasurable if it's a weekend and I'm headed out to the beach or the river for some fishing, which is a magical simple pleasure unto itself.
We've started having dinner dates out in the backyard on Fridays now that the weather has cooled off. We enjoy watching the birds an other critters in our backyard, thinking about getting some good bird feeders. We have a little rabbit family that lives in our back neighbors yard that come out sometimes.
We saw a lot of birds. If anyone could give some recommendations for good mostly squirrel proof birdfeeders I'd be grateful
whistling duck
Blue Jay
Green Jay
Cardinal
Once we get some birdfeeders I'll try to get pictures.
