I don’t disagree with @Null, but he used the Jeet Halo 2 anniversary Cortana and my disappointment is immeasurable and my day ruined. (The blur studios remade ones suck too, fuck you.)

I just find the kid creepy in a Victorian doll way. In general I find the adult protecting child/ replacement child thing emotionally manipulative. The only kid character I ever cared for was Katie in Dead Rising 2 because of the mini game bullshit and how you can fail to give her the anti-zombie clot shot. I also just liked how it played into the cliche and was played straight with Chuck being a cliche “doing it for my daughter”. You could even kill a retard to give her a pet Tiger.
 
I'll be honest with you guys, there was never a world in which this game didn't have a problem (perceived or otherwise) with Diana. The fact that she's a child will attract the creeps. Every child character you can compare and contrast to Diana will have a presence on booru's/r34 sites and that's supported by at least a significant number fans.

I'd don't know, maybe Capcom shouldn't have made Diana a kid? I really loved Cortana as a character so I'd be happy with that type of AI. I will say that the game really doesn't sexualise her in any way that I've seen. The game it's self is pretty cool. It looks good and is very fun to play. Hugh and Diana are likable if bland, the story is very by the numbers and the sound track scratches that Tekken itch.

It's a shame that the Internet has made being a pervert a normal thing. I mean no one seems to question as to why there's so much porn of children's cartoon character's or why the "ouhh cute erotic tummy" shit is just accepted in comment sections.

You don't have to extend it to Capcom, but I'd extend it to some of the game's defenders.
One of the rather unlikable criticisms I've seen online is that nobody who likes this game (as a man) can do so earnestly because men are not capable of caring for children in the same way women can. A non-insubstantial number of critics are using the title as a vehicle to hate on the opposite sex or performatively hate their own, which'll inevitably kill any "serious" conversation there is around any potential pedo problems, which more or less happens every time.

The "mud" here isn't just on criticism of Capcom and pedo-pandering, it's introduced by anyone whose criticism of a genuine issue instead used as a means of casting too wide a net in the belief it makes their criticism more profound or stronger. Because of people like Mary, people are forced into a position of defending themselves (as a man) and thus forced to defend the pedos who are hiding behind them as a shield. It's why it won't matter in the end and genuine pedophiles will get away with being in the open, because performatively calling everyone who plays the game a pedo just catches non-pedos in the crossfire and it ends up having null effect. It'll do to "pedophile" what was done to "nazi" and "racist" effectively. It'll eventually be dismissed as a meaningless buzzword if it's not used carefully.

Yeah, it was a tongue-in-cheek 4chan thing for like five minutes before actual lolicons started running with it. Which was obviously always going to happen, so it was cringey off the bat, but the implication of it has changed a little, anyway. I just assumed the thread was posted during that short window.

It's sad that we reached the point where depicting children/child like characters whatsoever in video games is inherently contentious because of how rampant and open pedophiles have become as of late. Let's be honest no matter what capcom's intention was there will be a naked Diana mod floating around sooner rather than later.

Hell when REM in deadlock released (the black thing in my pfp) people were calling him pedobait and I've seen some sketchy art of him floating around.
