I also feel like it has a lot to do with just not liking Japanese entertainment
There’s a recurring and serious issue in Manga and anime where the depiction of minor crosses into sexualization if not flat out porn, and it’s always treated as normal or at least not questioned. That doesn’t mean all Japanese media does this, but the pattern shows up so often it's impossible to ignore. We know for a fact that consuming this stuff blurs boundaries and risks normalizing unhealthy attitudes, yet it continues to appear in mainstream works.
Even highly regarded series like Berserk aren’t entirely free from this shit. Some of the younger characters are framed in ways that feel suggestive or are out right pornographic.
Something to consider is that Japan’s national age of consent was set at 13 until it was raised to 16 in 2023, this as a baseline would, effectively make relationships between adults and 8th graders legal in practice.
Western media isn’t immune to similar criticisms either. We have our own problems and It's fucking crazy to see Null pointing at a game like the TLOU as some kind of gold standard.
The Last of Us features a 14 year old female protagonist with idealized and exaggerated features. In her solo segment, you explore a long abandoned mall, where you alternate between brutal violence such as slashing enemies’ throats with a stiletto or blowing them apart with a high powered rifle and in between there are quieter moments of character development. Amid all this, the story gradually reveals her romantic attraction to girls, a theme previously hinted on in the main story.
I think retards struggle to draw the line between storytelling, stylization, and exploitation.
People react strongly to Pragmata because it's harder to excuse or brush off a shoeless JonBenet Ramsay robot.
Meanwhile:
The people who dreamed this shit up and committed it to video game formats are freaks.
