Principles of the Kiwi Farms

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I’m 39 pages late, but I have to add my bit.

While new members aren’t helping, I note that featuring a thread almost always draws bad attention & leads to an avalanche of shit posters, not in a good way, and good threads are ruined.
Take Landon Hiscock’s thread. That was a potentially great tranny cow, then he was featured, there were pages of bullshit and Landon was tipped and went private.
Keffals’ thread was featured a couple times in a matter of days, and it all went to hell.
Maybe consider the pros and cons of featuring threads?

I just wish the hard righters (lets be honest, its them) would just leave and go away. They turn everything into screaming the n word and when you slightly disagree with them they shit up a thread. As I have said many times, shut down, A&H and you have a better site. @Null
People are shitting on you for this but I get what you mean. The problem isn't inherent to their political views, but the entitlement they feel towards this forum and how threatened and butthurt they get when they see an opinion they disagree with. I used to post to A&H but I had to stop years ago because people weren't interested in discussion, just circlejerking about how based they are.

It somewhat mirrors what happens in far left spaces as well, although thankfully your unpopular opinions don't get you excommunicated or banned. Still, it's just as annoying. I think a lot of it stems from the fear that any approval of left leaning politics they see on KF means KF is going to become like everywhere else.

Glad to see this sentiment being boosted by Null. This forums has become kind of a slog lately thanks to all the users who have nothing funny or original to say and just endlessly parrot the same anti-woke talking points and buzzwords because it's an easy way to get stickers. I come here to get alternate perspectives and laugh at people who embarrass themselves online, not read 50 near-identical humor-free threads about how black people are destroying society.

Something I’ve mused about recently.

About half of the users who have joined post 2019 annoy me and threads are worse because of them. I know there will never be the glory days like Deagle Nation or the ADF subforum ever again, and I’m not saying there aren’t other threads and subforums I don’t enjoy. It’s that the culture of this site isn’t as great as it once was and I’m not naming any names but there’s other long time members who agree with me.

I know a fair number of people off this site who I’ve warned to lurk for about a year before they post. Get a feel for the community and see if it’s your speed. Don’t register with a name you use elsewhere (and I do mean anywhere, use a fictional character or a historical figure if you have to), and by God don’t act like you’re better than someone we discuss. There’s a reason I comment less than I used to which is partially because life takes precedence over funny internet content and partially because somebody else has already said what I was thinking about a particular thread when I do get around to reading the thread. I hate seeing the same joke on literally the same page in a thread. If you get ninja’d that’s not a big deal. But at least read the fucking thread a couple of pages back.

This isn’t me being pretentious and I’m not acting like all newfags are just immediately bad, some have introduced some genuinely entertaining content and can be good sports even when we are disagreeing. It’s just that the ones I don’t like are pretty insufferable at times. I’ll keep using the site regardless because eccentric people on the internet was one of my hobbies since before this site ever existed I just take issue with the direction a sizeable number of new members are trying to take the site in.

Also A&N is cancer and I really try to stay away from it.
