There’s also a lot of boards I comment in Q&A that I don’t know if their active unless people like things. It usually gets buried by others questions and I forget it exists.
Force every user to autisticaly calculate their own score based on a daily changing value for each sticker.Would a compromise for people who want reactions be that they still get the notifications, but the overall score is still hidden? Though I question if that would deny the dopamine of reaction farmers, but who knows.
I never thought I'd be defending KF's Karma system, but the reaction score was a nice way of quickly figuring out who's a dumbass and who isn't before the introduction of the Troublesome Violet Triangle, especially if the aforementioned dumbass is a freshly made sock account with a post count too low to get picked up by the jannies.i am fucking shocked people actually care and are within minutes filing tech grievances complaints that it's gone, like you people actually check that??? frequently???
Nope, I've only ever gotten "new reply" notifications for at most 4-5 threads I've recently looked at, but not all from my Watched threads list, even if someone posted recently in it.does this not work? I get notifications very reliably.
Probably by just not posting your own personally identifiable artwork on a doxing site. How are you supposed to have in-depth hobby discussion when at any point some random could come into the thread and say “oh look this faggot left metadata on the drawing he posted, here’s his dox lol”
"Crashing this plane, with no survivors"That defeats the entire purpose of what I am wanting to accomplish.
This shits turned on by default though when I registered. Might as well say all new users should be denied.People who have reaction alerts turned on should just all be banned fr fr.
I understand the concerns over autism but this shits kinda throwing out the baby with the bathwater. It has flaws, but people like gepettos woodclock (is he banned now?) having a negative 300 score was a REALLY handy indicator. They exist to provide instant feedback and a level of self-moderation. It shouldn't be something anyone actually covets, but it might inform you that what you're saying is not a part of zeitgeist or conversely is very interesting.
I don't necessarily want to watch every damn thread I post in. Reaction notifications were a good subtle sign a thread is getting a little more action.does this not work? I get notifications very reliably.
That’s my point. I’m not complaining, but Null asked why people don’t use the off-topic boards more. I suspect this is the biggest reason.Probably by just not posting your own personally identifiable artwork on a doxing site.
I can't believe Null has forced me to actually make effort informative posts that add to the general quality of the thread on topic i have an actual interest instead of insentivising me to make shitty drive by single sentences jokes and farming karmaIt would be very funny if site engagement plummeted because Null disabled the biggest Skinner-box driving site engagement, and all out of some intensely autistic idealism about how users should or should not engage with his site.
I would actually love to have a subforum where user identity is hidden from everybody but moderators.Next up, everyone will be Anonymous so that people don't sperg about other users, but sperg about whether or not Anon B is Anon A or not.
I think this is a good idea that way I can still have the satisfaction of knowing some faggot likely knows I gave them a trashcan.Would a compromise for people who want reactions be that they still get the notifications, but the overall score is still hidden? Though I question if that would deny the dopamine of reaction farmers, but who knows.
You're missing the part where I said I'm lazy and so are other people. Reaction alerts are automatically enabled when you sign up so that's just what I've been using for the past 5+ years and I'm assuming that's what other people use as well.
And then a spinoff called kiwi.party happens and it's utterly impenetrable in culture to all the previous usersNow that I think about it, Null is becoming a true 4chan janny. Doing everything he can to drive up the quality of contributions, not the quantity of it.
Next up, everyone will be Anonymous so that people don't sperg about other users, but sperg about whether or not Anon B is Anon A or not.
And the end goal, Kiwi Farms never migrates to Ruforo. Instead it migrates to Infinity Next, and we become an image board.
Why care about any of this? It doesn't affect you or KF's reputation. Non-farmers have already created gayop servers full of horrendous content to frame KF as a nazi pedo hosting site.people start sending nudes, sexually harassing each other, and getting involved in ultra-gay drama that I do not have the time or patience to untangle or deal with.
@Null you heard the man, time for a new Lounge board, even as a short term experiment.I would actually love to have a subforum where user identity is hidden from everybody but moderators.
I'm not talking about the DM chains, that is a feature I have literally never used once. I'm also not making any threats, veiled or otherwise. But I will probably use the site less because I used react notifications to track posts and I'm not interested in learning any new way of doing that.I loved veiled threats like this.
I am pragmatic, not idealistic, and the problem is that there are problems emerging from DM chains that would not happen if people posted in the main forum more often. I'd like to see what is going wrong that people prefer sprawling message exchanges.
