Aren't a lot of games with political/moral elements in them kinda "proto-woke" as you call them as a rule though?

I mean you look at the general culture within the gaming industry, or the tech industry overall, it's clearly left adjacent to begin with, not exactly traditionalist/conservative/religious dominant in there, not saying there's none, but certainly not a majority.

So a lot of games will have leftist or liberal elements in them by virtue of the people making them having those worldviews and that rubbing off on their products, not sure if i would assume that they insert those things to influence their customers, it's more likely that those views have been the norm for some time, and so those elements are taken for granted, unlike current woke shit that's very deliberately pandering to certain groups while shunning/bashing white people, i think there's a clear difference between the two.

For example: Most people would agree that Nazis are bad, so having them as villains to kill them is something that most people wouldn't have issues with, that is what i would consider a typical modern western attitude, now taking those Nazis, and conflating them with white people in general, and then make them ridiculous caricatures that are too evil to humanize, and turn the game into some gore porn/torture porn/revenge fetish fantasy for antifa and small hats to goon over(every modern Wokenstein), that would be clearly woke.

Also, we also have to take into account that because we've been bombarded with so much and such blatant woke shit, that people have become more sensitive to all leftist elements in games, new and old, and also have a lower tolerance to it, that's the case with me anyway, i still do like Fallout New Vegas, but i can no longer ignore those things and am more critical about the game than i was 10 years ago.

There's some truth to that. Gaming was largely untouched by Wokeism before, but I think it was mostly because the industry was very Japanese centric until more recently.
