I got one for you guys, inspired by one of the most recent episodes of MATI and a comment from @LimeRikki in the "Femoid Advice" thread.
Here's what happened (original thread link):

Yes, I know I'm not psychic, and I'll admit my brain does sometimes go overboard when pattern matching, but what are you supposed to do in situations like this?
To me, like it is to Null, it seems obvious what Rekieta is doing, but I guess it's not obvious to Baldo's audience. What's more, the rules of society mean we're not "allowed" to call people out when they do this, and if we try, it seems like we're suddenly surrounded by an angry mob of people telling us we're crazy/wrong and reading too much into things.
It also sucks when you're a little kid and you learn that if you try to call people out on this stuff, you get in trouble, and then you learn that's how you're supposed to communicate, so you try it, and then you're bad at it and that also gets people mad at you.
e.g. When you finally snap at someone for pushing you over the edge and you get the "Why didn't you just tell them to stop?" when you'd already done all the stuff you were "supposed" to do leading up to that point and apparently it wasn't good enough/you did it wrong/nobody noticed.
Here's what happened (original thread link):

Baldo's assertion: I didn't explicitly say X.
Null's assertion: But by saying Y in the context of Z you're drawing a connection in the mind of the person you're talking to!
Baldo: Nuh uh.
I've been in similar situations so many times in my life and it makes me feel absolutely insane. Yes, I know I'm not psychic, and I'll admit my brain does sometimes go overboard when pattern matching, but what are you supposed to do in situations like this?
