edit: The women with autism I know (notice how I have the decency to not call them"autistics") all have normal lives and relationships/marriage, one has children. They haven't stabbed anyone so maybe in your example the fault was the crazy mom, not the autism per se.

A cakewalk today for women thanks to affirmative action and quotas. I know a (neurotpyical) woman who joined the fire service and it's a big joke. She took 3 attempts to pass the fitness test (which btw, had already been lowered so women can pass it many years before she tried it). If you fail on your 2nd attempt you're supposed to be refused entry but they were so desperate to have a female on their team they let her have a 3rd attempt and give her a little help to pass it.

She was caught twice doing stuff when she told them she was too ill to work, including rowing a race when she had a supposed broken finger. But she's a woman and we can't fire the only woman in the town's fire service, it looks good and diverse to see they have a woman.

Question for the autismos/autismas (autismxs? ) ITT with knowledge on the genetic component: how does that interact with advanced maternal age as a potential cause? Does a mother being older straight up cause the autism or would she have to have the genetic predisposition for it already and it only gets "switched on" if she has kids later? My mom had me at almost 40 and I wonder sometimes if that's why I'm like this. My brother probably has the 'tism too and he's way more impaired/tarded than I am, and she had him at 35, which is sort of late too but not as extreme.

My parents had me at 17 but my father is the only adult from his generation I know that is very likely on the spectrum. My spouse is in the same situation but no autistic parent. We have the nature vs. nuture discussion about this alot as we plan on having kids soon.

TBH there's a lot of other countries I could add to this list. China comes to mind because it's so conformist.
