I actually forgot that Q had a plushie of his likeness :story:

Guess I didn’t miss out on anything.

It's the same thing he is doing in the DMs, cockblocking himself in case he gets rejected.

At the risk of sounding like an armchair psychologist here, this is what I think is the problem of late millennials around the world: in the last 10 years, we’re seeing more acceptance of people having cuckoldry tendencies being blended in the way how we interact with people on trying to want to hang out with them.

Not even Vietnam or WWII war survivors went through this nonsense.

Quinton seeing himself reflected in a tween sitcom.
I do remember Mandy.PNG

This is one of those cases in which people like Q make their own headcanon as the real character he is talking about is not necessarily autism coded, since that would mean every odd fangirl is supposed to be autistic. She strikes me more as ADD or some other basic disorder known by Nickelodeon writers a decade ago.
None of her traits strike as specific to the autism spectrum. If anything she shares more on common with Quinton than with most people with autism I know. This whole thing gets a new layer of funny when you start to think that Q saw himself reflected in a plot made ten years ago by Dan "Suck the dick or get off Nick" Schneider.

Please bare in mind this is the most interesting his whole journey into iCarly has been.

She strikes me more and ADD or some other basic pattern Nickelodeon writers are familiar with.

It's hitting him hard because they're the same. Annoying girl is Q, Carly and blonde girl is like breadtube. Like her he just wants to be part of the group because he's a huge fan but everyone hates him because he's annoying.

Real talk, Dan Schneider was a disgusting piece of shit, but that's some crazy foresight from the show's writers. I guess parasocial relationships have always been a thing, but it's pretty impressive that a fucking boomer guessed pretty accurately how youtube and social media would affect people like Moviebob and Quinton over a decade ago, back when youtube was just a place to watch Fred and cat videos.

I like how not only does Quinton watch children's television shows, probably as a way to cope with his anxiety, but they in turn give him anxiety. This man is so pathetic that his already pathetic coping mechanisms cause him even more anguish.

Weirdos getting obsessed with celebrities has always been a thing. Take something like Beatlemania or just groupies and fan clubs in general and view it through the lens of today and those could easily be decribed as parasocial relationships. It's really only the verbiage that's changed.

even if she were supposed to be autistic, what would be wrong with that? speaking as one, autistic people can be weird and fucking annoying and it's better to acknowledge that than put us on a pedestal
Good point, but I don't know if it's worthwhile to get lost in the logic of Quinton's insanity.

that would require more self-awareness in one moment than the man's experienced in his whole lifetime, as such this fictional 12 year old on the show about children doing wacky things is a deep personal attack on him and his entire personality type. already betting that this character and the perceived slight against him will have more of an impact than the fact that it was created by a child predator and receive more attention from him by a large margin.

I can't remember who said "BreadTube is just Channel Awesome for theatre kids" but props to them because I think about it a lot.

Quinton's one of the people who thinks that a character that shows traits of a group is the writers making a statement about said group and will brainwash into the audience into thinking all members of that group are like that.

Like, if there was a black character that was portrayed as a gang banger, people like Quinton would think it's the writers saying that all black people are criminals and the show's fans will start thinking negatively about the black community.

That's why Quinton and co. are obsessed with positive representation, they think it'll brainwash a generation of kids into agreeing with them.

By this reasoning, the existence of Carlton Banks as a character means all black people are politically conservative preppies, and the existence of Steve Urkel means all black people are socially maladapted nerds.
