Another good option is to limit (as in convince) a large proportion of women that they are happier maintaining a household over making PowerPoints. Maybe limit women to certain fields like Nursing, medical technicians and only allow widows with children to work.

For example up here in Ontario we are having a debate where leftists want $10 a day childcare. Which physically makes no sense with the amount they want to pay a childcare worker for 8 hours a day and one worker can only look after 10 kids or whatever limit they have set by legislation and common sense.

I want to argue that I know a way to get $0/day childcare if we just ban/discourage women from working. Just such a move would be political suicide (but then again women were the biggest and most loyal supporters of the National Socialist Party in Germany)

Women were also the biggest supporters of Italian Fascism, and used their right to vote for the first time to elect people who would pay them to stay out of the workforce and have babies. It's an almost universally supported policy if women are allowed to choose it, which is why I assume they're not given the choice.

This thread is a laugh riot, especially if you sort by controversial. Objectively true statements being aggressively downvoted. Reasonable leftists being shouted down by the mentally ill communists. This isn’t especially surprising given the nature of the subplebbit but it’s still funny as fuck to read.

There's a good chance those users who are shouting down reasonable objections are not true believers into leftism. Remember what has happened to the Occupy movement when they got too successful and had idpol "activists" forcibly insert the progressive stack to divide and weaken the movement?

I was part of that circle back then (because college), the reason according to one of my favorite literal communist websites (a Trotskyist outlet) was that $15/hour was the living wage (if you worked 40 hours a week) that matched closely with the rise in worker productivity, but $21/hour was what it would actually take to equal a living wage in many metropolitan areas due to a rise in the cost of living. This was like 2015 so I assume $21/hour is now $24/hour because inflation or some garbled talking point.

I recognized immediately even back then this was an idea that wouldn't work. What you really need is to lower the cost of living through various means which back then and now I'd still argue involves a lot of redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor. Not redistribute from the rich to the slightly less rich like Democrat politicians do when they divert billions to diversity studies, foreign aid, and the abject nonsense that makes its way into shit like "Build Back Better" or worse, the Green New Deal.

A great example of a minimum wage hike in practice is the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), a US territory. They used to have a minimum wage lower than the US and got (somewhat truthfully, even if the sweatshops weren't as bad as elsewhere) accused of having sweatshops because clothes made their could be marketed as being made in the US. Then they raised the minimum wage to match the US standard and all the clothes factories left the islands leaving a fuckton of people unemployed with poverty increasing as a result. Incidentally, CNMI is one of the most corrupt places in the US too.

Basically, advocating for a minimum wage hike is a simplistic solution to a complex problem. I don't even think there should be a federal minimum wage or even state minimum wage, it makes more sense to keep it at the local level since a rural county in Upstate New York and Manhattan would logically have very different sensible minimum wages. This is the same problem I had with the Trumpbux program, where last year working 40 hours a week made me not too much more than laid-off people sitting around doing nothing despite my state not having a high cost of living. Any sort of UBI needs to take into account local cost of living or else it will fuck over economies.

I fundementally disagree with a minimum wage as what is a minimum wage as collective bargaining is likely the best choice to have something that works for both the worker and the owner as long as they aren't critical industries that even minor disruptions can put the country in jeopardy. In that case, call in the police to break strikes and then if the owners are shitbags, they're in more trouble than the strikers given it was them which really helped cause the strike because of their unwillingness to at least find something to help fix the problem.

There was a comment Null made in one of his MATI streams where he believed that social security should be regulated because there's no better argument against it then seeing what paupers actually do in their spare time. I'm almost inclined to agree with him because it seems like the more worthless or useless you are, the further left you happen to be. There are a lot of people on antiwork or twitter who seem to have no source of income other than, not surprising, social security. And what do they do with their spare time? They sit online all day long and retweet politics and try to get some big boom in numbers so they can, as they seem to hope, make a living off of it.

It's why I tell people they should never under any circumstances attend a Portland, LA, or Seattle riot because one of my friends actually had his car window damaged and the perpetrator who committed the act couldn't garnish any of his wages because, again not surprising, he didn't have any wages to garnish. Basically he was worthless and because a car window is one of the cheapest parts to replace there was no point in pursuing damages. That might be why so many rioters get away with doing the shit they do, because they're worthless and the government can't really do anything to them because they're essentially pulling their own money out of their pockets. It really seems to me like this internet generation languishes and laments being useless. And I kind of empathize with Null when he says if you are absolutely useless, you should die for it. Maybe not to that extreme, but I'm a little mad at the internet that my tax dollars are being used as a fund to keep worthless people like antiwork or againsthatesubs alive.
