Omg! Imagine being humiliated that your firing didn't reflect your work performance! These people are so out of touch with the private sector. Being fired because you did something wrong is a bad thing! It would discourage prospective employers from choosing you over other candidates. Being fired because of lay-offs means you're perfectly good at your job, the problem was with the company needing to downsize.
What a fucking self-sabotaging retard. This kind of question is common in interviews and the answer is quite simply "They were downsizing due to lay offs and I was apart of those lay offs". Simple, clean and doesn't reflect poorly on your performance. Shit, even if you were outright fired due to performance you still say it was lay offs. Not like they are ever going to do a thorough enough background check to find out.
