Honestly if someone started a Reddit account with the username DTMFA and only ever replied with "DTMFA" to any and all r/polyamory posts, I would never want to discover their identity but I would definitely consider making an account just to give them Reddit gold.

I can’t think of a circumstance on there when this wouldn’t be appropriate. Literally every post asking for advice there, the subtext is “obviously I should dump them, but is there a solution that won’t leave me sad and alone?”
That's easy, just dig a little deeper. More context always makes it funnier.
Let's take our new friend u/metalman328 who can't figure out why he's so upset about his wife getting raw dogged by "Z". It turns out he knew it was a bad idea all along and we see some common polyamory threads start forming.
A few weeks ago she started talking to an old friend of hers that she has known for years, longer than shes known me, and that 'blossomed' into being friends with benefits, and shes stayed over and they've been there, and I havent had any outside attention from anyone.
I'm not on here to complain about not getting laid or anything, but i feel quite jelous and like i'm being shoved out. I know that i'm not and its generally like subconsious, but i feel like i might be getting controlling about this and thats the last thing i want.
For reference me and my wife have still been having sex.
Basic stuff, he isn't getting anything on the side and is sad about it - she basically already had someone picked out. So it isn't a balanced relationship, negative mark 1.
Additionally, we have the first post wherein he describes setting rules that she just tramples right over, negative mark 2.
In that first post he mentions they've been poly for "about 8 months", I wonder if that could be significant?
Going from this timestamp, this poor bastard was with this girl in a mono relationship for ~6 years and she hit him with this poly move a month before they got married. They didn't start out this way, can you imagine the devastation?
"I can't wait to spend my whole life with you. These last 6 years have been amazing."
"I'd actually like to spend a bunch of time with other guys, my bad"
So he dates this girl for a literal 6 years, gets married but a month (or so) before they do his wife gets him to open up the marriage.
He does, only for his wife to find someone right away (and that person she's known for longer than her husband, is close friends with, some unconfirmed signs that maybe she already was seeing him).
He (maybe) think it'll be ok if he can get his own thing going. He can't.
He thinks (maybe) he'll be OK if the wife sticks to the rules and puts him first. She doesn't. There are only two rules and she breaks both of them in the span of a week.
This is supposed to be a before/after picture instead of two pictures taken back to back.

Imma come out and say it: this is one case where listening to Roosh & pals would have done this man a world of good- specifically the thing about shit tests. The fact that he was so spinally deficient as to not resist her stepping out literally months into the marriage showed her that she can walk all over him, and she proceeded to do so. (How bad is the r/polyamory community when Cheateau Heartieste provides more sound relationship advice?)

I love your masochism capacity to deep dive on these poor souls but after reading yours and @bigniggerdicklover's posts, I'm filled with a bit of sadness. Maybe I'm just feeling sentimental today but this poor schlub with his gynecomastia and BPD wife is hitting me with . Of all the shit that polyfags do it absolutely kills me that they facilitate total cunts and assholes to treat other's like shit and dress it up as some sort of bold and progressive stance on relationships. Not saying this dude isn't a total pushover amongst the rest of his bag of neuroses, but his whore of a wife is chewing him up and using polyamory to get away with it.

Well, if it soothes your heart any - he's (according to the internet) only 23. Plenty of time to let this relationship burn to the ground and (maybe) learn from his mistakes and start anew. If they've been at it for 6 years it means he started this (and she, assuming she is of a similar age) when they were 16-17.
The probably comes from the fact, that if you remove polyamory (and hilarity) from this, that it's a situation that we've all likely been in. A long term relationship is falling apart and you're watching someone who hasn't realized it yet, trying to save it. You're watching him try and dump water out of a sinking boat slower than the speed in which it is filling up. It's funny that it's so sad, it's funny that he has bitch tits, and it's funny that he's posting enough about it on Reddit where we can piece together his life's story, but it's still a man who is in the very near future going to be single or miserable (or both).
that's exactly how i imagine most of these guys who let their girlfriends cuck them look like tbh: fat gut, bitch tits, neckbeard, receding hairline. attractiveness = zero, no wonder his slutty gf wants to fuck her bad boy ex instead.
Yeah, this guy could use some work. I don't think he's unsalvagable, but he's made every bad choice available starting with his carbohydrate intake. If he could man up, shave, and shed about 30 pounds, he'd have a much better chance of landing some strange and making his cheating whore of a wife jealous (maybe.)
if you were monogamous for a long period of time and your partner randomly springs poly shit on you, you've been cucked
if you decide to go poly and your partner rocks up with a new man/woman/whatever the next day, you've unquestionably been cucked
if you decide to set "rules" for your poly garbage and your partner systematically starts breaking them/arguing against them, you're doomed
if your partner decides to start spending more time with their new squeeze/less time with you/is fucking them rawstyle against your wishes, o shit nigger what you doing
if your partner insists that you need to be friends with their fuck toy and makes you feel bad for not liking them, congratulations, you've failed as a human being
if you're so depressed and broken inside that you've resorted to anxiously posting on a polyamory subreddit about how to "fix things" and still refuse to consider breaking up with your "partner", a rope and a stool is your best choice
I love it when the cheaters use "come out as poly". It is such a brilliant rhetorical trick. "My desire to fuck other guys is just the way that I am, therefore I am blameless when I cheat on you, and any disapproval on your part makes you an oppressive bigot!"
Heads I win, tails you lose. This is the Crybully’s Prisoner’s Dilemma, where a committed defector convinces bystanders that their opponent is being unreasonable by not cooperating in their own loss. It allows you to change the rules of the relationship in such a way that it leaves your partner little recourse, except perhaps to declare himself poly as well and slowly wean himself away. That would be the true defect-defect scenario.
