r/polyamory

what? at 16 weeks they have to use tools to dilate your cervix and physically remove the fetus, you can't do a medical abortion at that point. that's still an invasive procedure. abortion no matter how it's performed can traumatize a woman because of the potential social repercussions (or fear thereof)... though maybe traumatize is a harsh word. i don't think that it should be that way, but plenty of women have to deal with the shame of having had an abortion by themselves, and it can mess them up.

i think women should be allowed to get an abortion for literally any reason, but i also just think the idea that the woman got an abortion purely out of spite when she was in what seems to be a loveless marriage (that was opened up likely because the husband cheated on her and wanted an excuse to continue doing so guilt-free, and in which having kids was not considered until 9 years into the marriage itself, and only after the sidepiece had a kid first) is hilarious. even if that was the reason, the dude deserved it.

I'll try not to sperg about it, but it seems to me that abortion is indeed a moral question, and it has moral consequences whatever one's personal beliefs or choices about it end up being.

It seems very similar to me to how people in the poly community act, namely that they try to hide/destroy the fact that there could be any moral dimension to what they are doing. Shit like "tweet your abortion" and stuff like that just makes a mockery of what is ultimately a very important decision, and it seems to have many parallels to the cavalier attitude we see people embracing with respect to cheating and jealousy in this community.

If you need to write five paragraphs on how polyamory is a good idea, then maybe it isn't.

You're upset because your boyfriend isn't getting the sex he "deserves"? This person probably kidnaps women for him to rape.

Why do I get the feeling that the boyfriend left ten years ago, and she is coping by pretending he is still there on her blog? "Meagan" and "Steve" may just be figments of her imagination.

"Please don't judge" -- proceeds to tell how she got herself involved with a married couple old enough to be her parents.

As with everyone else that prefaces whatever degenerate and stupid act they're going to confess with "please don't judge", the problem in the first place is that they weren't judged enough.

. She did it "behind his back" (honestly this deserves a bucket, do you really think she should eb forced to carry an unwanted child?) because she had already made the decision to run.
Yes. Yes, she should. The kid doesn't deserve to die because the mother realized she made a mistake. Adoption is a thing.

Don't shame people for coming to their senses. I want to say "shame them for losing their minds in the first place" but even that is unfair to her.

It's not coming to her senses. It's murder. And you should definitely shame someone for committing murder.

It's neither invasive (there are more invasive fertility diagnostics procedures) nor traumatizing, and certainly vastly less so than pregnancy and childbirth.

Abortion is linked to an increased likelihood of severe mental disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, as well as suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.

That's not necessarily "traumatic", but it does encapsulate everything about a traumatic experience that we find negative.

Adoption can be traumatic too.
People should try not to get randomly pregnant in the first place, but polyamory is all about irresponsible decisions.

Well how shocking that people who are mentally ill make fucked up decisions that lead to unwanted pregnancies, which are the leading cause of abortions.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

"Nesting partner" makes me shudder. It's like they think they're animals. Animals at least aren't pretentious about what they do.

Here's my helpful tip: Leave.

"She's told me that this doesn't mean I'm not enough" yeah right. Sure seems like it. And of course OP wants to "understand the situation better". As we all know, if we get upset at our supposed partners fucking other people, it just means we lack understanding. If only she understood that she can GTFO.
