Nothing in this mod has anything to do with Warhammer 40K but redditors are so obsessed with muh 40K lore they cant help but mention it here. If they had actually read sci-fi they would probably know that the theme of "doing evil stuff as a way to stop even worse stuff from happening" Mostly comes from dune and the eternal champion series.
- Accidental Aesop: Sergey Taboritsky's Burgundian System Ust-Sysolsk and Russia takes quite a few cues from the equally totalitarian Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40,000 with its elements of genocide, purity obsession, Crushing the Populace, inequality, worshipping an effectively dead entity and religious dogmatism used to justify all that. The game therefore accidentally manages to bring about An Aesop that in literally any other setting, the Imperium of Man is a nightmare state and one of the worst humanity can achieve, especially if saner paths are possible.
This just seems downright obsessive lol. The dude has been dead for decades but the devs have a hate boner against him.
- Out of all leaders in the game, Oskar Dirlewanger is the target of the most horrific, bizarre, and outright hilarious deaths, with more than seventy death events dedicated to him. Given that he was a notorious war criminal, serial rapist and an extremely disturbing real-life case of Sociopathic Soldier, this was an intentional move of the developers to give him as much karmic retribution as possible.
