Total Development (German: Gesamtentwicklung) is a lasting state of development with no clear conditions that would lead to its conclusion. This is often used by developers to keep their communities on their toes by prolonging work on already existing or finished parts of their project. This meant to hide the possibility that the developers don't actually know what they're doing and that they don't have a clear plan for their future.

It's pointless to play most minors and breakaways as well. Not because you don't have any actual gameplay besides clicking buttons for events about heroic Socialist revolutionaries making Utopia or le cursed literal who baker who sold bread to Nazis once genociding Jews, but because you are designed to win. They actually want to get content to Poland and all the Eastern Europe factions even though once Germany fixes it's shit it just zerg rushes all those shitholes anyways.

Compare that to TWR where if Germany falls apart the USSR can quickly gobble up eastern Europe during the chaos and have a much better preparation for the big war.

In TNO the game ends the same way in Europe, Nazis dominant again but weak because of scripted bullshit and somehow a Russia that was divided until literally maybe a year or two ago with far less industry or actual divisions and equipment is supposed to invade in about five years.

TNO tries to show the two as almost equally evil, but here's the basic rundown:

Radkiewicz was a Commie shit who was exiled for basically being a Soviet cum slurper, during World War 2 became the chief political commissar for the Polish Army in Russia, and upon "liberation" by the Soviets was the chief leader of the Stalinist purges, which included the execution of Witold Pitecki, who literally snuck into Auschwitz and gave early information on the Holocaust to the Allies, executed because he was deemed untrustworthy for fighting in the British organized Free Polish Army, and started the anti-Catholic attacks by the Polish Communist Party, whose targets included the fucking Pope, John Paul II, along with a litany of other horrid crimes.

Giertych is a still living Polish politican who is a noted creationist, supported anti-gay legislation, and during a speech to the EU denounced Hitler and Mussolini as atheist and socialist, but hailed Franco, Salazar, and de Valera as guardians of Europe. He also published a pamphlet where he asserted Jews naturally isolated themselves from other cultures and formed Ghettos as part of their isolation and was condemned by the EU.

But if all you did was read the shitty descriptions by the TNO devs, you would be forgiven for assuming Giertych is the true ultimate unwholesome evil path, when the commuist leader was a gigantic waste of life and caused misery to those who didn't deserve any of it.
From the bottom of my heart, any TNO dev or writer reading this, get fucked you talentless goofs.
