I've only played the East German part of Ostalgie, though the rest of the Communist Bloc, minus the PRC and USSR, are playable via (paid) DLC. I managed to more-or-less keep the Bloc somewhat stitched together and keep East Germany a Marxist country. Is this game good? also its alledged now that FurherRedux has stolen all the custom new shit from Ice Steel and put it in there mod as their github is now public for "public testing". meanwhile if you join you gotta wait 20 minutes before you can chat in their discord, where they admit to gayops against the Ice Steel devs, but if the jannies think your account is too suspcious, they'll ban you legit the second the timer is up, so join the FurherRedux discord and grab as many screenshots as you can before they nuke everythingSo appartnly Furherredux imploded because a lot of the actual devs left to make Fuhrerreich Ice steel. claiming the lead dev, a greekoid, try to push to much of his personal beliefs into furherredux and banning people who did actual work instead of toozers. now furherredux devs claim the new furher fork is stolen and will do a lolsuit against this new fork. and trying to get kaiserredux troons to downvote it on steam.

Basically the Fuhreredux team claim they more mad at them running away with the code for the content still being worked on more than anything else.

That part of the Ice Steel devs wanting to use a suicided dude as a meme path seems pretty messed up if true. Going to take a neutral stance between these two and wait to see how it plays out before making a final judgement.
Ronnie Mcnutt as a meme path is just in poor taste.
While you're right about the code part (a fact that consistently comes as a surprise to modders), Paradox actually does allow for making a profit out of modding. IIRC the limit is that you don't sell your mod or anything like that, so Patreon and merchandise etc are kosher.under the condition of making no profit off it (that many mod teams still do regradless.)
Good for them, never played multiplayer myself but clearly it's popular enough for Paradox to invest this much into it. Though, if anything, this pretty much confirms that any future Paradox games will be much more geared towards MP if they're a suitable title.Hmmm..... Are we going to see hoi4 mods enter into the E-sports community?
its more just a general statement, even more so when modders have pissing matches accusing other mod devs of "stealing code", which implies they own any code to begin withWhile you're right about the code part (a fact that consistently comes as a surprise to modders), Paradox actually does allow for making a profit out of modding. Probably one of the few good ideas they've had that I've not seen in other mods that focus in one region do.After 4 months, Bring the War Home has a new teaser!

Good to see they're hard at work on the content the mod benefits the most from!
Hoi4's competitive MP is lightning in a bottle they're likely never going to be able to replicate and hopefully they know that, it'd also be incredibly risky for Paradox to have a more MP focused game because I've only ever heard bad things about the stability of MP in the games using the newer version of the Clauswitz engine.Good for them, never played multiplayer myself but clearly it's popular enough for Paradox to invest this much into it. HOI4 Competitive MP being even somewhat successful is a happy little accident considering how much the engine works against it.Hoi4's competitive MP is lightning in a bottle they're likely never going to be able to replicate and hopefully they know that, it'd also be incredibly risky for Paradox to have a more MP focused game because I've only ever heard bad things about the stability of MP in the games using the newer version of the Clauswitz engine.
This isn't the first moon landing event they've teased, seems they've rewritten/recoded the one from 2020.After 4 months, Bring the War Home has a new teaser!
