Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

What do you mean you work at a standard job and saved money to own land and have a stable family instead of jacking off to anime and wasting all your money on useless consooming. NOOOOOOOOOOO You don't deserve that bigot/race traitor, I'm GOING TO RESSSSSSSSSSSET so you're just as miserable as me.
Owning land in particular fucks over these people's mentals so much its hilarious. 99% of terminally online idiots, irrespective of political affiliations, have a seemingly irrational hatred of everything land.

They won't ever admit it, but they seethe over land because owning land is the definitive proof that you've worked hard to accumulate wealth, and now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor with passive income. Seeing this makes the degenerates seethe beyond belief. Literally every westerner who seethes about land is a loser, no exceptions.

"How dare you work hard while you're young so you can live easily and have passive income when you're older?? Why can't you be addicted to instant-gratification and wage-slave for the rest of your life like me??"

I wonder why it fucks with Right wing spergs in particular, considering a lot of them are for private property and the like but whine about "muh boomers ruining everything" like Fuentes and their like do. With leftists it's easier to understand due to communism's hatred of private property to begin with. I just don't get why certain right wingers hate boomers owning private property and boomers only owning the land, considering it will probably pass down to them in the boomer's will. (if they weren't a ungrateful shit that is)

Were there any failed hoi4 mods that you wish got finished and released?
Not exactly failed (since they were released) but I wish the old south america expansions had been kept up to date. I always loved playing in SA but the mods tend to have slow development or be abandoned for long periods. There was a great Brazil mod I used to have but it hasn't been updated in years.

The cool ones that got shelved that I could think of were,

The Old Order Last days of an Empire/Next days of Europe: These two were double blind what ifs of TNO that seem far more interesting then the Red Order mod that might be working on.
The former was a sorta parody of TNO by having our world's cold war but with TNO's logic (The Allies decided to leave Germany as a mess of warlords with a chance to avenge Adolf Hitler if they reunify, Japan signs a white peace with the Allies and larps as Muammar Gaddaffi, Italy is broken up into multiple countries, the Brits stabbed the Ethiopians in the back and now Britain and France are fighting tooth and nail to keep their colonial empires as they make enemies with the United States and the Soviet Union

Scorched Banners and Crimson Days was the never ending present day cold war mods.

Next We Move Forward: This was going to be a British civil war mod set in the 1980s

Blue World Rising Eagle: Double blind what if from Red World where America won the Cold War.

The various attempts at Caesarreich and Tides of Revolution: The two Fuhrereich book events in mod form.

There was an attempt at a mod based on 1983: Doomsday that look interesting.

Shame that none of these ever got finished and released.

Darkest Hour. I'm aware there's an open beta now on Steam, but considering the fact that DH has been in development pretty much since the launch of HoI4 six years ago and it only now has had even a beta release makes the mod a failure in my books.

Yep! That's what I was thinking of, thanks.
IIRC Iron Grip released a demo ages ago, so I'm not sure you could call it a failed mod just yet.

Rule Brittania

The UK takes over the entire world either by conquest or economic influence. Point of Divergence is around the glorious revolution.

You could either play as the UK and try to keep the world under your thumb or rebel
I remember that. That looked really fun. A world completely controlled by the eternal Anglo and you can tear it all down.
There was another mod just like it where Trotsky won and the world was completely controlled by Trotskite communists and you can wage a war to bring it all down.

Yeah a shame RB got cancelled. It was out of the blue too, no dev drama.

Maybe Soy4 devs don’t want to work on alt history scenarios that aren’t just “What if X won Y war”

That's a reasonable belief for any other person, but not Kaiser Wilhelm! He actually was very nice, handing out the wood he chopped down in his spare time to townsfolk for free, making match sticks to give out to the frequent visitors he always welcomed. But, within the walls of his house he was a bitter man. He turned his habit of boring his general staff with endless streams of consciousness into boring his servants, almost on the daily, with endless streams of consciousness about how he din do nuffin' and it was everyone elses' fault he wasn't Kaiser anymore. Though he also spent the time in a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with the nazis. He hated the awful treatment of jews and continually referred to the nazis as just gangsters ruining everything that made Germany great just to get revenge on the world. His sons that dipped their toes in National Socialism were also disowned by him. But he also hoped their military successes would somehow restore the monarchy in some form. He didn't have to be Kaiser again, there just had to be a monarchy and the end of National Socialism.

It's actually hilarious how superficial depictions of historical figures have affected the perception of all the tards playing TNO. I.E Albert Speer is another good one. There was a decent amount of posting that was genuinely upvoted about how IRL Speer was actually "the good nazi" and was horrified by all the bad shit going on when he found it. Which was the keystone of a huge disinformation campaign that Speer himself had speerheaded to rewrite history and absolve himself of guilt. He was a sweet talker and extremely intelligent and charismatic. That and selling out all his buddies and shifting his own actions onto them and getting them all executed is how he got off Nuremberg Scott free. The taboo of using Nazi documents for historical research for a couple decades and all the aforementioned basically let him get away with creating any narrative he wanted. Which he used to effectively say "Yeah I wasn't the guy using slave labour, these guys were! Just don't look at who was ordering them to use slaves!" and calculated humility like "Yeah I was a nazi uwu, but I was just doing my job and didn't know anything bad was happening, I'm so regretful!!!" He was basically a celebrity and celebrated as the good Nazi who deeply regretted it all and who had made it his life mission to expose the 3rd reich in the aftermath of it all. Then people started looking at actual Nazi documents because it stopped being taboo and instantly realized he was a hardcore Nazi the entire time. That the armament miracle he pulled off was because he just forced POWs and enslaved locals in occupied territories to mass-produce weapons and ammunition with a complete disregard for quality. With horrific shit like captured Soviets being forced into factories and made to produce the guns and bullets that would be used against their fellow soldiers on the Eastern Front.
The Speer myth is incredible because of how many fucking primary source documents we have specifically involving both Himmler and Speer in cooperating over making the Holocaust and shipping slave labour to factories easier.

It's hilarious too because he could have actually secured his legacy by coming legitimately clean in his testimony, instead he had one for twenty years and now looks like an even larger criminal than before.
