ITS COAL
Kaiserreich fanfiction mod #21833. Nothing will come of this.
There was some drama a few months ago when they banned everyone on the discord who commented with the Israel emoji under the Goblin portraits showcase, also pretty sure there's a few trannies in the dev team but compared to hoi4 there has been almost no major spergoutsIs there similar batshit insane drama to this in paradox’s other big game Eu4, I’ve been in that community a long time and the most I’ve seen was 1 guy losing it over a anbennar dev recommending he ethnically cleanse the elves when asking for help with his save.
In general, the older the game is the less drama there is, the older PDX games attracted a different kind of autism. The biggest EU4 modding drama I can think of off the top of my head was when Kotaku interviewed various mod authors about evil gamers being racist in alternate history mods.Is there similar batshit insane drama to this in paradox’s other big game Eu4, I’ve been in that community a long time and the most I’ve seen was 1 guy losing it over a anbennar dev recommending he ethnically cleanse the elves when asking for help with his save.
Is it that hard for these people to come up with their own ideas? I got no problem with taking some stuff or being inspired, but I feel like no one in the modding scene except for a handful can come up with their own original ideas. Then those people have their shit stolen by much less interesting or talented retards and we get shit like "KAISERREICH 1952" or the stunning "TNO with two small differences that makes it an even WORSE written Visual Novel!"
Even the cyberpunk doesn't make any sense. It's the goddamn 1960s. I remember someone asking (after seeing the cyberpunk look of the Guangdong focuses) if TNO tech is more advanced than IRL 1960s, and the devs had to clarify that it isn't and the focus trees are just that way for the aesthetic.Anyone played the new Guangdong update? I love how they literally couldn't find any interesting ideas for a Jap puppet state located in the Canton region of China and all they could think of is "uhhh cyberpunk?". If I recall, they don't even draw from actually good (and kino) cyberpunk media like Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell at the very least, the devs behind Guangdong are super into Cyberpunk 2077 of all things as cyberpunk inspiration for their lil fanfic tag.
Also why did Guangdong even need to exist anyways when Manchuria exists? It wasn't even a real life proposed plan like the Order State of Burgundy, it's literally a fanfic tag. Manchuria actually deserves content if they wanted to add more content to Asia beyond China, Japan or India.
Just goes to show how creatively bankrupt they are. 1960s Canton China, alongside Hong Kong and Macau already have a unique aesthetic of their own. Just watch one or two HK or Macanese dramas from that period (not Kung-Fu flicks) and you get a good glimpse as to what the 1960s was like from a visual perspective. But wait that would require them to actually research about slanty eyed people and that's too scary cuz they prolly hate trannies idk confucianism or some shit, anyways back to the shitty and glitchy CD Projekt Red game as inspiration.Even the cyberpunk doesn't make any sense. You can literally do the same 'capitalism is le heckin cyberpunk dystopia?' narrative on Manchuria.
Here are some 'ideas' that could be used for Guangdong that I had come up after 5 minutes of brainstorming.Anyone played the new Guangdong update? That sounds great and all, but how does it give me a boner for proving my political beliefs are better than others. Here are some 'ideas' that could be used for Guangdong that I had come up after 5 minutes of brainstorming.
- Have it be a testbed for japanese colonializaton of China, and by extension, Asia.
- Explore the consequences of creating an artificial state created just to streamline integration into Japan.
- Have GUI 'minigames' to deal with declining KMT/CCP remnants.
- Deal with new Chinese independence movements in the same way as above, and have them come into power if the player mismanages them.
- Japanese colonialists may grow discontent with the gov't, and establish a Japanese state in southern China after a rebellion/coup.
- Expand into Guangxi if either it falls to Long Yun, Chinese/Jap seperatists decide to expand, or if Tokyo just gives them the green light.
The closest thing to the Guangdong puppet state in real life that I could think of was how Wang Jingwei's widow wife was put in charge of Guangzhou for a few months in 1945 after her husband's death. The TNO team just wanted their fiction of Japanese corporations in southern china and eat it too. Also why did Guangdong even need to exist anyways when Manchuria is a thing? Oh thank God it isn’t otherwise we would have had some alternate history in the FUCKING ALTERNATE HISTORY SCENARIOEven the cyberpunk doesn't make any sense. It's the goddamn 1960s.
