Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

Oh yeah theres an ''remake'' of that video
This isn't great, whats with half of them being "oh its actually bad!" Taboritsky style twists? Its way wackier too than the original which kind of ruins it, plus there is a Stalin reference which shouldn't be there because Stalin never rose to power in TNO.

So, in the end, there's anything actually good in this mod? From what I've seem, looks like it's just a visual novel you could as well just copy and paste the event text, put on word and read.
The gameplay 99% of the time I see it's russian unification, it's just it? The only actual thing to do is magically making an aboslute miserable URSS somehow reunify and become stronger than Germany because 20 years of civil wars obviusly make no damage compared with the German Civil War?

Some stupid niggers over here will try to shill some aspects, but it's universally garbage, stay far away.

if you think commanding some random backwater russian shithole, which entire purpose in the mod is that it's lead by some devs favourite whacky/wholesome/insane historical person go for it. The mod simply doesn't want you to have fun and will ruin your entire experience if you don't play the devs favourite wholesomme reddit big chungus politician.

TNO's effects have reached a a lot farther than just the HoI4 modding community.
Interpretation depends on the amount of tinfoil you possess as headwear.

What happened is that by pure accident we managed to trivialize obscure ideology bullshit to the point that autists, retards and otherwise less-than mentally sound people are sold on them. I pretty much attribute all of the right-wing schizoposting (agartha/hyperborea/etc) to have been caused by TNO, even if unintentionally. The mod has pretty much shone light on something esoteric and known only to three and a half crackheads on this planet and distributed the ideas to bored teenagers/young adults.

However, most of those playing TNO and taking on these ideologies are not genuinely interested in them but instead also have a very trifling look on them - thus dilluting any political discussion they may involve themselves in for any reason. Unironic ultravisionaries are a prime example of this - the ideology is completely made up and bases itself on literal nothing but aesthetics, yet has attracted its own niche of people that defend it.

I will as far as to say that in a roundabout way Panzer actually did what he originally intended to do - making a commie propaganda mod, but instead of promoting leftist ideology he basically managed to trash the entire right-wing political "landscape" with shitposters and retards.

Even "real" ideologies suffer from this. There's people who unironically claim that TNO "made" them into a Marxist-Leninist. TNO has spawned a niche of people who embrace radical political ideologies based on who's focus tree has the coolest looking icons or has the best super event music.

Just like retards becoming [insert ideology here] because they have good music. Like the ones that became [insert ideology here] because of TNO, they know fuck-all about said ideology, it's just an aesthetics obsession gone wrong.

The event where Serov accidentally breaks the fourth wall and starts blaming the collapse of the Soviet Union on Koreans is actually pretty funny.
He doesn't, but he gets close. After examining economic and statistical data the 1930s and 40s he realises that the Axis victory and the failure of Bukharin's USSR was more than a few bits of bad luck, it was a string of constant nudges, all in one direction, that were statistically absurd. Which is pretty funny. He's just the first person in-universe to go back and truly examine everything autistically.

There are actually a few German events and descriptions that remark on it to. "Actually, X thing from the 30s was very mismanaged. If our momentum had stalled at any point during the war, this might have turned out to be a very serious issue!"

Hearing someone explain Kaiserreich from an outside perspective makes the mod sound super autistic even if this is a very basic explaination of the mod.
