Their reasoning for removing esoteric Nazism is so stupid as well. From what I remember from the stream they said they removed it because having an more extreme version of Nazism whitewashing regular Nazism.
If by "whitewashing" they mean concealing the flaws and unpleasantries of Nazism, then they are dead wrong. It is precisely those flaws and unpleasantries that extreme Nazism pushes to the forefront in its exaggeration of the ideology and its principles.
If anything TNO should be mocked that they were so ass at research that they did not include some of the schizo beliefs Himmler had in Burgundy.
TNO's problem has always been this: bad research.
The hypothetical of the Nazis winning ww2 is really the hypothetical of Nazism consolidating itself into a firm and established state ideology.
For those questions of how it will mature, evolve and change, a quality answer may only be composed by someone who i) deeply studies the ideology, ii) can impersonally wager the possibilites, iii) can empathize with the figures/followers/proponents of the ideology to see through their eyes and judge their next moves.
For the sort of politics that permeates the creative staff at TNO, all three of these things are absolutely haram, and thus the "alternative history" we get is amateurish.
Now I'm not critiquing as some sort of Nazi loremaster. I'm not one. But from my experience I would say that the principal opportunity of any alternate history endeavor is to speculate the evolution of ideas, philosophies, peoples, etc. much like how one would organisms in biology. I'm disappointed at the shallowness of the present work compared to the depth of its sources.
