Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I think you might be right about the don't convert games thing, in my Eu4 campaign I had converted every single province to my state religion and also culture converted over half of the provinces in the Mediterranean but in Vic2 none of that carried over.
IIRC the Vic 2 converter weighs the history of the EU4 game for pop culture and religion

Just realised that the Nazi ideology is pretty wacky with the real world standard, if we use TNO ideology, the Nazis are surely be Ultranationalists instead of fascists

As for the second, before I went bankrupt I started building quite a few factories so I'm waiting for that to finish and yes I'm definetely going to watch a lot of tutorials for the economy in general because I feel like my IQ is just too low for this game.

Tbh what you're gonna want to do is manually edit the files for pops if that's whats bothering you. It's easier than it looks and you can get a script if you just wanna mass convert ppl to roman culture and religion

Cold War: Iron Curtain updated recently. It's currently very buggy and crashes a lot but it does look a lot better than TNO. There's a full WMD system with DEFCON levels and nuclear strikes on the map, and no anarchists taking over the whole of Siberia. It may turn out to be a better cold war game than what we have and replace TNO now TNO has crashed and burned.

Now this post is offtopic but I hope some good samaritan gives me some tips about my Victoria 2 Campaign, this is the first time I'm playing the game and I'm scared and confused.
This is my situation: I've converted my EU4 campaign into Vic2 so now I'm playing as the Roman Empire, in Eu4 by the end date I was the richest and most powerful nation in the world generating 3k duckets a month however now in Vic2 it's the 26th of January and I'm already bankrupt.
So my question is, what the fuck do I do?
Play vanilla vic2 (with dlc ofc) to get a feel for the game
USA is piss easy you literally cant do anything wrong
Prussia is a bit more difficult w/ all the sphere stuff but when you form germany you literally cannot be defeated even if the entire world gangs up on you
Japan is a good unciv -> civ playthrough
Brazil or Sweden for a good 2nd rank power playthrough
when you understand the game I'd start w/ modded vic2

That sounds really unbalanced. Germany did try to take on most of the world at once in 1914 and it didn't end very well. Britain aimed to make its navy able to fight the next 2 powers at once but taking down the whole world should be impossible.

Funnily enough
In the subreddit, the redditors unironically read Yockey's Imperium and legit make a thread about it if you didn't know it already

Yeah I skimmed over it, they missed the points of it (shocker) and their critiques were generic boring lib-left critiques. Consequence of people speaking entirely differently social-cultural languages despite knowing the same words.

Also anything on Kaiserreich? The subreddit is in a constant state of war between people jerking off to their favorite ideology in-game leading to a lot of cringe posts usually on the unironic Syndicalist side. I have heard a lot of the dev team are left-wing and a rumor on a /v/ thread that one of the (Possibly former) devs for the CSA (Syndicalist America) was/is a anarcho-communist. Having done a CSA run It's telling their team was full of the wholesome chungus Sablin faboy types, they introduce LGBT laws, end miscegenation laws, and destroy Confederate monuments. There is even an event about that mountain in Georgia with Confederate generals carved on it with options to blow it up, recurve it to show American heroes the Socialists admire, or put Karl Marx on it.

I haven't played Kaiserreich but I know the story is really dumb with Germany going to intervene in China instead of taking out the French communists literally amassing on their border.

Once you become aware of TNO, you can't escape it.

Hahahahaha guys funny clock man!!!! Loook guys it is the Aryan LARPers!!!!!!!!!!
He was more grounded than TNO Himmler who has absolutely lost the plot, but he was definitely one of the odder people in the Nazi leadership and wasn't popular enough to assume leadership of a country.
Himmler is honestly one of the most bizarre historical figures out there, whereas most of the Reich's government was fairly grounded in reality for the first half of the war at least (Though according to accounts from people in the bunker at the end of the war even Hitler realized it was over and was depressive for the last few days before his suicide), Himmler was an absolute autist who has done so much occultish shit that Burgundy could've been interesting based on that alone. It could have been a rogue state worshipping Odin or something, instead it is an unfeasible state that somehow exists until his death, THEN collapses.
Oh yeah, if anyone is interested in visiting the 4chan redux discord (which in the space of a month went from a disorganized shitpost to an actual project) drop me a DM here, we've moved on a bit from the drama and are focusing more on development now.

TNO drama has mostly dried up anyways, but I have a feeling that when we start releasing teasers and content it'll flare up again.
Tfw no Discord account. Also I wonder if either TNO Redux will have as autistic a documented TVTropes page.
Can he take over now?

Apparently the new lore is Germans recognized the syndicalist government hoping they'd be more friendly to them, which is fair enough as none-meme France has no reason to love Germany in the KRTL. What doesn't make sense is why they stopped one left wing government takeover in Russia, an attempted in China (You could debate the KMT's politics but from a German perspective they'd be left-wing) and to be fair at the time Meme-France was the only Syndie state so I guess they were hoping she would be diplomatically isolated.

Either way KR lore is all over the place with them moving to realism. Some of the teasers do seem to indicate that the Third International is going to be more multifacted than a wholesome 100 Workplace Democracy unless Totalists get elected somehow with the UoB already acting tyrannical in new lore.
