Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

Yeah, I guessed as much. But I do have to ask, since this is something I'm curious about. Might be a bit too early to answer this though. Has the removal of Pacifica, Valrin, and Panzer actually improved the mod team's capabilities? Or is the new lead dev council just former task masters being collectively promoted to high task master in place of the old ones?

Edit: Also would like to know if there were any purges of team members. Since that was something said early on but never verified. It was sustained by naysey, removal of the message join/leave channel and inability to check team member roles. I'm very skeptical of there being a purge, at least one that numbered more than a handful of guys. But it's not something we ever had a conclusion to.
The problems with TNO can't just be reduced to two or three people. By the time Panzer stepped down from head developer, the culture surrounding the development team has already turned into a perpetual cesspits consistently elevating the most insufferable to top positions. Both of them (Valrin doesn't even count, he was lead dev for less than a day lmao) coordinated everything with their small clique of developers, and the position getting abolished doesn't mean that the development process fundamentally changed - it was merely done as a reaction to the Pacifica drama, as a council of about a dozen people (and 4 department leads) attracts much less trolling and gayopping than one central lead developer serving as the public face of the mod.
People do get promoted on an irregular schedule, but don't expect the mod to fix itself. Like always promotes like.

There were no large-scale purges, as the team already got gleichgeschalted years ago - everyone who put up with the constant deluge of petty bullshit for years also put up with the recent events, it's nothing extraordinary as far as internet autism goes. A fair number of developers fucked off to their private dev circlejerk server (most prominently bamba and a few others), which caused the join/leave channel to be deleted because proper communication is hard.

The mod was doomed from the beginning because Panzer knows nothing about coding and is an "idea" guy. As an "idea" guy, I can attest that you add barely anything to projects like this. If the lead dev was a coder he could manage a lot of the foundation on his own and work on it as a passion project. Since Panzer was nothing more than a shitty writer he could do nothing but try to attract people with actual skills, and try to prevent skilled people from taking authority away from him.

All I've learned in this thread this past week is that Turks are still some of the saltiest, no-fun posters on the internet. What fucking stick is up every single Turks ass that makes them so reactionary and perpetually ass-blasted?

Say goodbye to any enjoyable right wing paths, the globohomos have taken control of another mod.
There are some very strong right-wing paths in Cold War: Iron Curtain. Japan can do an ultranationalist coup at the start of the game and get a war goal on Taiwan without America doing anything about it, which seems a bit overpowered. It's close to what TNO wanted to be but in a historical setting, though it's still a work in progress.

There actually was a coup plot against Yoshida historically, but I don't think America would just have let them restore the empire outright and would probably have applied some sanctions and withdrawn military aid to moderate their position away from invading Taiwan.

Hello Everyone, KoenigLars here, Co-Lead Writer of TNORedux

While it's true that Bach stepped down for personal reasons, not a single other original dev left and the current "lead" isn't a retard

The mod hasn't been "taken over" and development is continuing as planned.

This will not be "WHOLESOME BASED LIBSOC 100" and we are not compromised, I can promise you that

Bach is still active within the community of the mod, he just stepped back from development

According to one of skylar's friends he just killed himself. Skylar has threatened suicide multiple times so it may not be true though.

I know I'm not really replying to anybody when I say this but I do think that more "serious" or "narrative-based" mods are valuable when done right (See: TNO Speer and some of the Russia paths, maybe Japan too idk). It's a fine line to balance in an autism map painting game.

It's why I think the brony mod is arguably the best available mod right now, has a decent amount of serious stuff but it's in a fantasy world so who gives a shit about weird lore. I guess another example of this is Red World, takes itself just seriously enough to where Bernie's Nazbol Surprise actually has some impact.

Salt over not being the Ottoman Empire anymore and also salt over not being taken seriously by anyone now that the Cold War is over. There are other reasons, but those are the big ones.

There are many possible answers to that question, it could be due to their autistic hyper-nationalism that makes them believe that most people (specially westerners) are fearful and jealous of them, this belief is shattered when they realize that most people today know Turkey because of the war crimes, corruption and rape, wich makes them really salty.
Turks arr fucking annoying when it comes to anything related to History videos, specially European History, they like to larp like their ancestors were the huns, tho to be fair that is understandable considering how much they seem to hate civilization.
In case it isn't clear, I hate t*rks on the Internet and in case you ask, no neither I or my family come from the Balkans.
