racing games - no not racist games you fucking ni

That game should be played on pc for a simple reason: every car configuration is stored in text files. It's super fun to mess around with and most of our time playing it back in the day was spent creating weird monsters and then trying to race them. All aspects of the car can be modified, like individual spring stiffness, power output etc. It's like juicing real rc cars except even more absurd and it shows how good the physics simulation of that game was for the time.
The original PC port was something I've been playing religiously when I was a kid. My parents got it at the Scholastic Book Fair at my school. It's shocking to find out that the game still holds up strongly, and not just gameplay nor graphic wise either.

Ubisoft posted the launch Car List for The Crew Motorfest. And Subaru is missing from the list again, does anyone know why they haven't license their cars for The Crew games after the 1st one?

Also, one of the cars to be added in GT7's upcoming August 7 update, is apparently an ambulance, out of all things:

I miss Blur. anyone here remember the game?

MC and Burnout are only passing memoirs now.

I'm sad and both glad tbh, sucks that these two franchises would've never seen the light again, but at the same time glad that I won't have to see these two franchises getting ruined by the companies who own them (Rockstar and EA)

And also Re/Volt. Nothing but treasures from the past
don't forget Motostorm, Blur and Split/Second.

Apparently the Gran Turismo movie according to Critical Drinker is good. It's not convincing me to watch it though.

IIRC, this is a IRL story about an actual guy who became a legitimate racer through Gran Turismo. So, it's basically a documentary of sorts.
Yeah it's the over dramatized tale of the Nissan GT academy winner. It still doesn't convince me enough to watch it. Kaz and Sony's antics have soured me enough as it is.

Then again, he thought the HBO Max Last of Us series was good, so what am I supposed to say. It's just stupid, and the movie itself looks like absolute trash

The question is this, why am I supposed to care about a Gran Turismo movie? The only good video game movies are 94 Van Damne Street Fighter, Paul WS' Mortal Kombat, the first Jolie Tomb Raider, 07 Hitman, Uwe Boll's Postal and the two Angry Birds movies. Every other video game movie is trash

You just listed seven.

Yes I did (and I honestly feel bad for not including the 90s live-action Mario movie), and those are just 20% of the good video game movies. The remaining 80% is just hot fiery garbage
I wouldn't know how many non-video game movies are bad, but if it's like anything else most are garbage and a few are good. But usually we know something is good because people talk about it a lot, so we only remember good. But video game movies stand out to people where they remember both the good and bad. Book adaptations, on the other hand, half of the movies people think are original are adaptations and they don't even know.

I am very interested in this now that I know it's based on a true story.

Only movies based on anime only had two good movies (Speed Racer and Alita to be exact). The new Gran Turismo movie may have the claim that it's "based on a true story," but is it really?

I don't know, I haven't watched it. It's supposed to be about some promotional thing where they took epic GT gamers and taught them to be real world racers, the main dude going on to be a professional driver. Oddly, it seems they race-bent him from Black to White.
