I have zero desire to see this movie, even less so now that it’s not going to result in a Chris chimp out, but it’s getting surprisingly warm reviews. I watched a few quick ones and one reviewer(Jeremy Jahns) says there’s a subtle reference to a Mario dimension in it. I assume that means there’s some sort of “dimensional doorway” trope going on. So basically... it’s a cinematic version of Chris’s merge. Good lord, if they start doing a “vidya cinematic universe”, you’re never getting Chris to come back to the real world.

Nigga thinks he's hot shit and that he made a million dollar franchise that is better than Sonic and Pokemon put together but somehow only gets less than $200 a month for it from 14 people.

Really? Most of the reviews I've seen are saying that it's a trite mix of ET and Roger Rabbit plotwise, and not as good as either. Also that the film is clearly intended for 8-year-olds, but that 8-year-olds deserve better. Also that Carrey's performance as Robotnik is by far the best thing about it.

If you watch Null's streams, you'll see medical evidence presented (about a week or so ago) that the virus mostly targets Asian men because of a certain protein that appears in their lungs. Asian women are less susceptible than men, and white/black people are likely not susceptible. Chris being white is not going to get it.

I only watched two, but both pretty much said “hey, it’s not the train wreck we anticipated..” I don’t think anybody expected The Godfather pt II, just watchable for an IP cash grab trading on nostalgia. I only find it interesting in the whole course correction they did to fix that god awful sonic design. Might be a weird precedent for fan pandering in the future. An empowered nerd is a dangerous nerd indeed..

Chris however probably leveled up through countless, grinding hours of elite 4 runs and wild pokemon battles with whatever xp boost items the game gave him. He doesn't have people to play with, but he does have unlimited free time.

It's pretty great, you're dropping an extra 50 bucks to be pampered like an asshole but in the right company its great. If you're out in the country it might be worth a trip with your cronies to go do it.
