Apparently the "Guardian" thing Chris is referring to is some social worker thing in the UK that helps college students do things like find apartments, pay rent, pay student bills.

If you want to get these things done then you do need a guardian. You cannot expect your parents to be there with you when something comes up.

And even if you have some relatives in a new city, there are chances they don’t play the role of a good local guardian.

So in order to replace your parents there is thing called Local Guardian & Consultant you can hire on rent.

I don't know what Chris thinks some UK group will help him with, maybe he just thinks they'll "do all the work when mommy dies". It also seems really targeted to college kids.

I'm from the UK and have never heard of this thing before. Clicking on the link it looks like its a service for primarily South Asian students, though it could potentially be for students studying abroad. But, if this is what Chris was referring to, it definitely doesn't seem like he would be accepted
