Dolan is just a popular clickbait channel where they animate stories people send in (Using regular voice actors and characters), answer general science questions, do top 10's and that kind of thing.

It's not really random. So to start with, people attempting to troll Chris are almost uniformly dumbasses with no sense of subtlety. It's pretty bad when someone is obvious enough to the point where even Chris can tell you're fucking with him. And yet, that's most of them. (Think JULAY.)

Chris will talk to you if he thinks you're a fan or if he thinks there's a sale to be had.

So in this interaction, I think the person was just subtle enough to rope Chris into a conversation. Chris probably thought initially that they honestly misunderstood that his name was changed, and after that, they had their foot in the door.

That's a spot-on description of pretty much all of the trolling since the beginning.

Frankly, no trolling attempt nowadays can be funny anymore. Look at him, he looks fucking gross, any jokes at his expense will just be overshadowed by feelings of disgust when you see him. Then any reaction will just dissolve into "look how fucked up this guy is." I don't see any troll plans becoming notably entertaining beyond putting him in his place at least until he himself has cleaned up a bit.
