Chris would grab onto articles like that ("3. Baggage is a driving force in empathy."). It's basically another take on the 'Nice guys finish last!' trend of thought. No, Chris, 'baggage' doesn't make anyone more desirable (and it doesn't matter what you 'deserve).

"Why the Best People to Love are the People Who Have Been Through Hell" certainly doesn't apply to Chris. Each day is like a holiday to Chris, no work and playing with toys and stuff. There's no day that is like hell for Chris.

I wouldn't trade lives with him. Remember, you can't just take part of it and call it the American Dream; if you want the toys and free time you get the hoard, barb, and :autism:.

Chris, on the other hand, is ugly in and out. He's also deluded himself for years, believing he actually has something to offer a woman. Looks aren't everything when it comes to love, but even if he weren't unattractive he'd still have nothing to offer in a relationship.

I'll grab the bull by the horns and say Chris is a contradiction to society's message:

And, like you said, Chris is an awful person who isn't in the least bit attractive. He's living proof against one of the biggest moral stories we grew up with. That being said, I feel like society is a contradiction to all our "life lessons". Look at commercials, look at magazines, ads online, etc. etc. Are even normal-looking people in them?
