That's always confused me too. Like Nintendo and the Pokemon Co. are way more likely to sue someone over IP than SEGA. Nintendo has a pretty good track record of doing just that. But for some reason Chris is hung up on retconning and wiggling he way around using SEGAs characters. I wonder if this goes back somehow to when he first created Sonichu or something Bob told him.

Maybe he thinks he can bargain his way out of any potential copyright issues. Like, "I changed it from Amy Rose, what more do you want? It's like I can't win with you people!"
