Containment Random Chris Updates

Wait this guy is giving all the profits of the Sonichu prequel comic to Chris?

Holy shit guys, do you know what this means...?

It means Sonichu Entertainment of America was a success!
Chris finally found someone dumber than him to make Sonichu comics for him and give him all the money!
Chris-Chan wins again! Take that trolls!!
I've mentioned it before, but I'm just waiting for Chris to get in trouble with the SSA for not reporting his non-SSDI income and going over his monthly income limit or with the IRS for not filing his taxes. The SSA does monitor bank accounts of recipients. It seems like it's only a matter of time.

He should be reporting his non-SSDI income, but since there's not really a chance of him getting even 30% into a scenario where he'd lose his tugboat (according to SSDI rules), I don't think they'll hassle him too much about not reporting.

And I highly doubt the IRS would care about missing taxes on like $30k/year.

Last I checked he's making over $750 from Patreon plus what he's selling on Ebay and selling comics and now profiting from this other comic. Monthly income limit for SSDI is $1180 before the SSA starts deducting monthly payments. Just from Patreon he's making over 60% of his monthly limit.

No, there's also the dimension of time. When you exceed the dollar limit, you go on a trial work period and don't lose any benefits for nine months. It is supposed to encourage people to try to get back to work.

If you fail the trial work period and your earnings drop below the limit, then you go back to disability. No harm, no foul.

I can't see Chris getting even 30% of the way to losing his tugboat.

"Did you pay your taxes?"
"I'M WORKING ON IT!"
Yeah, that will end well, if he doesn't get yet another break from lawbreaking because hurr, autism.

Not sure. I know some sites like that just issue you the proper paperwork and warn you it's your responsibility to file your taxes properly.

If Chris ever was.mailed a W-2 or whatever document eBay sends to him, I honestly believe he'll either look at it confused, or delete the email/throw away the notice thinking that someone is trying to troll him. But the again Marvin, you'll probably tell me that Chris knows how to handle money and he knows how to fill out a tax form/w-2

@cabalcoffers found Chris's Dark Arbok card.

"As I was going through the Big Binder I found a card has a small star in the top of the sleeve. I looked behind the card and found an interesting surprise. I have never heard of this, but he has at least 15 “memory cards” in his collection. This one commemorates opening a pack on September 11, 2001. I wonder if I will find more of these as I dig deeper."

My assumption is that sites like Patreon and Kickstarter treat the people who use them as independent contractors and as a result it's the person who earns the money's responsibility to deal with taxes on their own. I'm aware stuff like Amazon's MTurk works like this.

I really doubt Chris is going to bother to pay taxes like he's supposed to or keep a record of his income and expenses for tax purposes. While I doubt Chris has hit the point where he would be earning that much, something to point out is that if an SSDI recipient is making at least $25,000 from both SSDI and earned income then 50% of their SSDI is taxable.

I was contacted by the buyer of the Birthday Pikachu. He told me that that was one of the memory cards with a similar insert behind the card. I have since noticed at least 4 more memory cards in the Big Binder.

Does Patreon send earnings to the IRS? I know ebay does if it's over a certain amount

It doesn't send earning to the IRS but it will chase you to declare incomes over a certain threshold and send you digital copies of forms to complete (or give you the option of a paper copy).
They will not however chase you on it or follow it up (as seen in the dsp tax saga) as it's in the terms and conditions that this stuff is your responsibility.

you should probably post all the Memory cards so we can catalog them all. then at least something interesting may come of the card sales
