Megathread Random Thoughts & Questions - ADF

How does Phil remember the past? It's probably a blur to him.

It's like how he see's the future - A week he can recall with clarity, a month is a bit harder but he's still able to recall the sequence of events, after that things get tricky and a little more nebulous as time goes on.

Also how the fuck is Phil the sperm that won?

How would Phil react if I actually showed up at his house? I'm a tiny fucker, and generally non-threatening, but what if like...I had a kiwi sticker on? Or came bearing a basket of kiwis or something? Would he genuinely try to kill me, or what? What if I was recording him? I get the feeling he'd play nice begrudgingly. That or slam the door in my face, which would be very rude tbh.

What would Toren have to say?

He'd probably slam the door and barricade it. Then he'd make a smug Facebook post about how a Kiwi came around and literally tried to kill him, but with his amazing array of trans weaponry, he was able to fend off the enormous black man who invaded his house.

Shit himself and hide

Prity much, I have a better idea of his prediscovery era that he does, while I don't have it as in depth as Chris''s early life I've been able to piece it together to a acceptable standard.

Haha. I'd believe it. Out of curiosity, how much of that has to do with him being genuinely stupid, and how much has to do with him constantly reinventing himself and disavowing his own past? I know he's stupid, but man... there's gotta be some heavy cognitive dissonance going on there.

To be honest I'm not sure, it's like he's stuck in a vicious cycle where being dumb and trying to avoid feeling bad by changing who he is every couple of months feed of each other. If I had to hazard a guess though I would put my money on it being because he's so dumb.

I found a chick that looks like Phil with anime eyes.

Okay, so I got to thinking about this after a post in another thread. We know that Phil thinks boy bands are somehow 'Communist music.' What I'm wondering is, when (and how) did he develop his fixation on that sort of music, and does it represent one of the few perhaps genuine instances of gender dysphoria in his life. Like, when I was a teenager, guys wouldn't be caught dead listening to that stuff. We were into rock and metal. We would have literally called Phil's tastes in music gay. Did he have that when he was younger, or did it come from his anime/yaoi phase. Granted, it's still a bit weird, but it'd make sense if he latched onto that to show how 'gay/bisexual/intersexed' he was.

No it's more that Phil hasn't really got a understanding of what he really likes, so he sticks to things that are prity obvious in there message, and also bands that became popular around the time his mental development stalled. It's a bit like his J-Lo obsession fostering his obsession with "safe" latino culture, shit like that was everyware around the time he stopped developing so to him it's still current in his mind and the ability for him to understand the prity obvious messages in the lyrics make it easy for him to understand.

I'm not aware that Phil has said boy bands (e.g. Hanson) are "communist music"; the only reference to "communist music" he made was when he was motel-hopping with Thomas, where they "listened to Mexican communist rap" (I'm not aware that such a genre exists). Still, it is hardly surprising if he indeed associated communism with boy bands: as far as Phil is concerned communism is just that Mao-suit wearing boy-girl thing in Hetalia.

I think it was Mexican FEMINIST rap that Phil insisted on playing at the motel.

Also, Tommy Boy complained that Phil wore out his phone battery by listening to THIS song on repeat:

Very interesting. Granted teenagers don't tend towards very sophisticated musical tastes. I mean, yeah, I admire a man who can play the guitar, but back then I was more into headbabging and sex, drugs and rock n' roll. It just SEEMED deeper and more meaningful because we were hormone fueled adolescents trying to find our own way of expressing our identity. Phil is stuck in that stage, but he's also too dumb to try interpreting music. Its kind of sad, but also a bit ironic that he sucks at rebelling.

Out of curiosity, do you know if his parents tried to control or restrict what sorts of media they had access to? I know some parents, maybe a lot, do and certainly it's understandable with two special needs children. Was he banned from watching violent TV or listening to harder music like metal or rap? Or did he just gravitate towards the more milquetoast stuff on his own?

We knows hardly anything about his upbringing, and what little we heard of are mostly his deliberately distorted/completely fabricated accounts. But I'd imagine that the bitter custody battles between Angelo and Jacqueline, and the need to care for a younger and genuinely low-functioning child, did not leave them with the energy to micromanage Phil's hobbies.

Not really apart from the obvious stuff like 18 rated films when your 10 etc Phil's tastes where mostly benign until hormones kicked in.

We know a fair bit as it happens, while he's not as forth coming as Chris in this regard bit's slip out publicly from time to time and if you have a good sock and can get him in the mood he can an does open up from time to time, there is also 3rd party accounts we have been able to find, also Phil's not creative enough to totally fabricate a event so when he retell's events more than once you can get a sense for what really happened because he uses the reality as the framework and then add's to it.

But your right, Phil was the older forgotten child with a younger time consuming special needs sibling so they couldn't really afford to spend much time paying attention to Phil an his problems so they festered, part of me wonders what would have happened to Phil is his folks did have time for him and wonder how he would have turned out. He still wouldn't have been normal but he would have been far better off than his is now comparatively speaking.

I think that "Phil thinks that boy bands are communist music" is actually a misconception.

Boy bands and such is what Phil has on autoplay on his Livejournal page.

If i remember correctly, the only time that Phil has spoken about "communist music" is when he was sperging about Maria Pupo having classical music on her answering machine. That made Phil angry, because classical music is only for the upper classes, and a communist should listen to something HARDKORE like Rage Against the Machine.

Someone didn't study Soviet history, or even Mao's.

Indeed the kind of music Phil apparently digs -- edgy metal shit and slutpop -- would be roundly condemned as degenerate in any communist regime.

Since he didn't post a victory lap or suicide bait after the review any word on how it went?
They don't just render a verdict on the spot and tell it to you like a criminal trial. Instead, they go through some sort of internal process and then send you a letter with the decision (and instructions on how to appeal it if necessary). Phil himself probably doesn't know yet.
