Seeing any photograph of Phil puts me into some sort of raging temper tantrum, but those right there, those were the start of this whole mess to begin with. Those Naruto cosplays were early on some of the most well talked about things of early ADF. That's one big reason why I always thought ADF was not funny and wasn't going to be.

Nah. Phil has stated he hates anime now and doesn't trust anyone with an anime avatar or who calls themselves an otaku or even just says they like anime.

This is due to one of two things. Either he's ashamed of his Narutard past (but given his lack of shame about everything else, this is unlikely) or more likely, he started hating anime because a lot of SJW's hate anime and associate anime with the Alt-Right (most likely due to the origins of 4chan)

The saddest part of all of this is that Phil was legitimately better off as an idiotic but ultimately harmless Naruto sperg with some liberal leanings and bisexual tendencies instead of the trench-footed fake Latina transtrender mall ninja Anarcho-Communist he is today.

At back least then he had a small circle of fellow weebs and spergs who were cool with him (even if they weren't close friends, they were acquaintances from what I can gather), his hygiene was better (though still not ideal), and he hadn't alienated everyone around him to the point that even the SJW's barely tolerate him.

Identity politics literally ruined Phil's life.

He used to be pro-Israel, to the point he even pretended to be Jewish for a while (in fact, when he first went full-on transtrender, he adapted a faux Hebrew name), but as the SJW's became increasingly anti-Zionist and the conservatives ramped up their support for Israel, Phil became a rabid anti-Semite (although his one-sided vendetta against Mark Zuckerberg also played into this)

However, I heard something about him making comments about having a Passover seder with one of his imaginary headmates, so he may have dialed back his anti-Semitic rhetoric, and returned to liking the Jews. I don't know for sure though.

Look at it this way, Phil's entire social life is online. If not for Toren then Phil has almost zero human interaction in the real world.
So he can say whatever he likes because no one's going to fact check. From small lies (hating animu) to massive lies (major surgery) Phil gets away with it because of the divide between real world interaction and online...that was until Toren came along.

Heh, I'm not surprised. Phil doesn't seem to drop... anything, really, but his interests do seem to be cyclical. It's sort of like he forgets about things for months at a time before obsessing over them again. And really, they're all just ways for him to try and construct some sort of identity. Naruto, Hetalia, the whole Latina thing, gay shit (literally), BDS&M, bicycles, outdoor stuff, communism, tattoos, the sex worker lie, witchcraft, cosplay, maps... It's probably a sign of his autism, but pretty much everything just builds on the others. Eventually you're stuck with a dysfunctional manchild in a sped helmet, bubble gum pink vest and crudely tattoos.

Even the faux Jewish thing is making a comeback, though I think he is sort of antisemitic, or at least dislikes actual Jews for not being Phil. Oh I suspect he likes the IDEA of being Jewish because his autistic mind never lets go of an idea, and he needs to be the most special, unique snowflake. Plus, unlike most other lies, he might be able to pass for "Jewish." But he doesn't really want to meet or interact with actual Jews, because then he wouldn't be so special or unique. They might even know more about being Jewish than him!

I have long agreed that the whole SJW culture has ruined Phil, not that he wasn't a bit of a twat before then, mind you, but once he bought into "communism" and all the weird gender identity politics he was sunk. I don't think he realizes that he's approaching 40, and stuff that was cute or trendy years ago won't work for him.

Despite how stupid and ridiculous Phil is, he's actually fairly canny at some things. Granted he's found a crowd he can exploit, mostly because nobody is willing to say no to him apparently, and because of how toxic and catty these SJWs seem to be. But, even beyond that, he's managed to get a welfare check and keep a roof over his head with no apparent skills whatsoever, and for quite a while too apparently. That's actually quite impressive for a guy who seems too stupid to read a book, even on topics he's interested in, and with no real street smarts. I give him credit. Or perhaps I should give the US government far less credit than I do.

The thing is, Phil would absolutely be happier as a bog standard Narutard. He could find people just as socially awkward as himself, with the same spergy hobbies and interests. I've known a few people like that, and classic Phil would have fit riggt in. Hell, he'd actually have been one of the more normal ones. Give him an apartment and minimum wage job and there you go.
