Chris delivered to Cole’s stoop in a large wicker basket wearing a baby bonnet and a onesie.
We stuck Who Framed Rodger Rabbit on the projector today in the workshop, and I can't now unsee the baby as Chris.
I'm a firm believer that Barb's in some sort of home or managed care living situation. Harriet and Uncle Tom are both pretty old as is, and their house is pretty small. Barb would only get a tiny guest room according to Zillow's tour. Virginia has a half decent placement service for elderly people who have been victims and I imagine getting raped by Chris Chan would get you on that list pretty easily. As dependent as she was with Chris, being in a home would be an enormous blessing. She can demand all she wants and unless really ornery, will get waited on 24/7. Even if her pet tard came home, fresh out of the clink, hepped up on Jesus, I doubt Barb would choose that over a home or something similar.
Eh i doubt it, or if she is it's a day facility and she either goes home to 14BLC or to her sisters of a evening, and early morning. I am solidly of the opnion Barbs are Sun Downer i.e. she gets worse as the day goes on and she might have hammed up "Old Dear" at some points but she is in a age related cognitive decline I've seen it in my extended family where my Aunt and Uncle arranged there wedding so they could do it as early as they legally could so my uncles father could be there as after lunch he was a little forgetful and after 3 he was downright bonkers - poor fucker has dementia and lives in the same area he grew up in 80 years ago and walked into a shop that used to be a butchers and asked for some bacon because his dad was hungry that's now a hair dressers the owner luckilly knows him and now just says "No problem jim just sit there and I'll sort it for you" and calls his wife or my uncle to come pick him up, but as time goes on he's less there and the times that he is there he's living in the past he got really upset the other week about being late for school and he started as a sundowner.
So basically imagine that Chris was never convicted of anything, *that* stuff can be enforced. If Barb can request a protective order, or the government allows someone to be her guardian (basically stripping away all of her self-determination, so they have complete control over her life like she was a small child), then they can add a protective order on her behalf.
The legal system can be really fucking stupid and unintentionally cruel at times, Chris on his best day's isnt fit to care for himself let alone another humanbeing, and Barbs just not there most of the time anymore so the worst thing they could do for either of them is trying to be kind and letting him off lightly like they seem to be doing.
They are required to assign him a social worker, but Chris can't be compelled to see them. They can give him housing but he can just walk out of it. They can't throw Chris back in jail just for exercising his rights. He's done his time, so all they can do is give him a fine.
I'm at the point of saying should Chris even have the right to self determination at this point? I don't say it lightly or in jest but Chris is really in need of a competent person to handle his day to day life. I know people say well he isn't starving and can drive etc but he's not eating well, he's able to drive but in America that doesn't mean much, he's not able to care for himself or struggles to at a base level.
If he commits a crime again, they can of course send him to jail on new charges.
He will and he will likely ramp up frequent flyer miles in the court, the punishment and the boon for Chris is the Tard Card - I was sure that this current mess would have made the system try and do something but he looks like he's getting off lightly again (without tard card in play books would be thrown at Chris) - He needs a dose of reality or in his parlance a Commupance to realise that he's not devine and can and will recive punishment for his actions. He's not had that in 20+ years at this point.
A good example is, you know that if you drive 45 in a 30 zone you do so at your own risk if you get caught you can get a fine or even lose your licence for a period of time, Chris will follow the law when there is a punishment he can understand that has a direct effect on him i..e fine = less lego but he will still think drving 45 in a 30 is justified as he was really hungry and needed food from McDonnalds.
It depends on what they found in the wellness check and if Barb is willing to throw Chris under the bus. They could just be keeping Chris in jail on probable cause rather than intending to convict him (remember, Chris' admissions alone are only probable cause, but not enough for conviction). Maybe they have a little bit of evidence but aren't 100% confident that it will stand up in trial.
What's the status on the violation of the protective order for taking that money from Barbs account? IIRC that was never charged (could be wrong though) they might be able to hang charges on that over his head as well.
I'm not a Yank but I do know that violating those things is serious, I am guessing they found enough to warrent booting him out the house i.e. the elderly sex book maybe some used condoms and other sexual paraphernalia but violating the EPO is what was enough for them to slap the bracelets on him.
Correct me if I am wrong but in the US or Virginia specifical view a Breach of a NCO as a automatic sentence, I can recall something from years back where a woman took one out against a ex and moved just outside the guys new location and tried multiple times to have him arrested but it was tossed out as "happenstance" i.e. he was in the same shop and she walked in, he was at a bar and she walked in, he posted a singles ad and she saw it etc. Or is it the sort of thing that falls under Clapham omnibus rules and the jude is supposed to use his common sense, so if there is a shared bank account and chris used money from it as normal behaviour would that constitue a breach of the protective order.
That part is definitely real, Barb got sued multiple times for outstanding debts. Bob did have some money saved up before he died, but Chris and Barb splurged it all on an expensive lawyer, only to plead guilty anyway.
Yea Barb blew through the cash she had on hand with Rob Bell for all the fat luck it did her, she spent it for herself in that regard as she didn't want a criminal record Chris just got represented as a side benefit to his service, She herself get's a rather nice pension and a portion of Bob's as well until she dies.
I think Barb does care about Chris, but only while she has to if she can isolate herself from him i.e. toss him some toys and ignore him while he plays she will do so, and she will spend her money how she see's fit and she does that buy accumulating "Stuff" as she is very much part of the generation that though "More Stuff = Beter life" in her more altruistic moments she may say to herself "Well at least Christian has all this stuff he will always find something valuable" when the most valuable thing she has are already snatched from under his feet in the form of secure housing and possibly building a nest egg to make sure that he has the basics coverd for a while.
