That dude paid real actual money for a gift for Chris and a night in a Ruckersville hotel... for the slim chance of meeting Chris. I feel like it's kind of a "never meet your idols" situation.
But what you have to keep in mind, is that all I did was drive three hours less then I would have, if I finished my trip yesterday. I also ended up saving $50 by staying at that hotel, opposed to the one i'm in right now. That $50 more than covers the cost of those cels and the frames for it. There was no wasted money on my behalf. I had to more or less drive relatively in the same direction to get to my final destination, East. Was the most optimal route? Nope, but was it worth the stop? Absolutely.
As for WHY I wanted to stop? I'll just reference my response in the other thread.
This whole trip, going a couple of hours out of my way to see the world that Chris has grown up in, it's a tourist attraction to me. Right on par with the rest of the wonders of the natural world, because this place blows my mind. There's so much there, there's so much to do, so many cool places to see or visit. But we have Chris, in this shallow little existence of his, oblivious to everything and everyone. To have been around from the early days of CWC to where it is now, I wouldn't exactly say that it's a dream come true, but it's like being offered the chance to go to Disney world. Only thing being, that when you go to Disney, the only ride you can go on, is 'Its a small world', and the animatronics have been replaced with smelly bums. We all know that it's going to be a shitty, miserable experience, but you can still say that you went to Disney.
