PetsMart has pickle-shaped catnip toys now. I wish they had them back when Chris was getting mad about the pickle saga, so someone could have sent him a box of them.

I like the one about autism where he's inside his own head. It was just a straight-up expressive piece of artwork that didn't involve hedgehogs and wasn't created for him to fap over.

I honestly think that with some decent management, he could have made some real bank out of his art. Unfortunately, he's become too lazy for any good manager to take an interest. Oh I bet. Sad if there wasn't an outreach program for people on Chris' level in that part of the state or he could've worked within a group doing such artwork for area shows and such. Just never had the right people or influences to make it happen.

I've only just found out about this person and now half way through the documentary about him on youtube which hasn't even covered the part about him becoming transsexual yet, and I find it really sad how somebody with obvious mental problems has been so trolled and bullied.
It must be really sad for his parents that's happening to their son. I think he should have the internet taken away from him because it has done no good. Or be put in a humane institution for people unable to live safely independently.

In some way, people like Chris were 'taken out of the picture' once, now they're 'in the picture' and it's not a pleasant thing to see for the rest of us unaware of what we've missed from not having the picture tainted like that.

I discovered Chris around 6 months or so ago and have became obsessed. I listen to the kacey calls and documentary at work, in my car, I discuss him with friends, its nuts.

I recently found out about how Chris shits his pants often. I cant believe I missed this. Jesus he really is the "Perfect Storm" of the autistic neckbeard trope isn't he? Still cracks me up the wiki page how he would dump Dirty crapped briefs into the families laundry when they had a full load in them. With Barb incapacitated I wonder if he cleans up after himself when he shits himself or if there is a festering shit pile somewhere in the Chandler house....

See, I don't think he'd be any better off without the Internet. Maybe his life would have been less surreal, but the seeds were sown long before the Internet discovered him. He was discovered in 2007, by which time he was already a permanently-unemployed manchild with elderly parents and a habit of getting banned from places. If he wasn't online, he'd probably just be doing stupid shit out in the real world again, getting banned from the few remaining stores in Charlottesville that he's allowed into. He'd be different, but he would not be happy.

As for Chris' mental illness, I'd recommend that you familiarise yourself with the CWCki for a fuller picture. The JULAY tape wasn't just Chris spontaneously deciding to become an amateur porn star, it was the result of a complicated trolling plan. The vagina thing isn't just a weird delusion that came out of nowhere, he's long believed in the power of wishful thinking and this is far from the first time he's interpreted a worrying health development as a sign of magic female body transformation. He's not schizophrenic, he's an adult whose mind ceased to mature around the age of seven and had zero support.

The one about a conveyor belt of people smoking cigarettes who were on the way to being cremated and mixed with acid. That was a surprisingly dark dream to have, even from the mind of Chris and it would have been amazing to see how that would materialise in a Chris drawing.

Maybe if you've only just learned about Chris and your knowledge is limited to half of a Youtube documentary you shouldn't come in and make sweeping statements like one that Chris was bullied unmercifully and would have had a perfect life if it wasn't for that. Almost all the early mock worthy details about Chris were revealed by the man himself and he was already making a fool and a nuisance of himself in public before anyone got involved with him.

I'm not saying he wasn't bullied or deserved all the bad things that happened to him, but jeez, at least don't admit to being clueless before spouting an ill informed opinion.

That's kind of a hyperbole. Trolls kinda made fun of him. The worst things they've ever done is send him to Cleveland and gets him to shove model magic up his ass.

His parent* doesn't seem that disappointed in Chris, besides the tranny thing. It never seemed to bother Borb that Chris didn't have a job.

I think your position on Chris is really uninformed. You seem to be from the camp of people that believe Chris is a mentally unstable maniac who had his life ruined by the internet and should be put away. For now, Chris is mostly fine. When something happens, he'll have his mom, and if not his mom, then us trolls will save him (look at how we responded to un-clit 2.0; within hours, everyone was texting Chris to seek help and was checking on him).

But then, he is also autistic. And he was raised TERRIBLY. Would he be entitled to a modicum of forgiveness based on those factors? Is he unaware how hateful he is? Should he be offered redemption based on that and many other factors (including the fact he was victimized, even though much of it was self-imposed, one still might argue he didn't know better)

Two interesting conversations going on at once - in the end, how responsible is Chris for the way his life has turned out? How responsible are the Trolls? How responsible are Barb and Bob? We probably can't say for sure until the story ends, (when Chris dies, whenever that will be,) but here is my take:

The thing that fascinates me about Chris' story is that it feels like the worst case scenario. Everyone who was involved tended to make the worst possible decisions at every available chance.
Were Bob and Barb bad parents? Yes. Is it their fault? That's arguable. They clearly weren't prepared for something like Chris, but the argument could also be made that they didn't really try to understand what could be done, choosing instead to ignore the "shame" of having a slow-in-the-mind child.
Are the trolls at fault for how Chris is? Sure, to an extent. I don't think anyone's going to pretend that at least some of the trolls weren't assholes. Funny assholes, sure, but assholes nonetheless. But, as Karen pointed out, Chris was doing a fine job of screwing himself over long before the Trolls showed up.
Is Chris to blame? Yes, of course. His Autism was certainly part of it. His upbringing was part of it. Some of it definitely is that Chris is just incredibly stupid and naive. He could have walked away from the trolling at any time. Just stopped going online, but he didn't. He still hasn't. He won't. The attention is more important to him than the mockery.
I could go on, but I won't. A LOT of people contributed to the nightmare that is Chris Chandler. No one holds the blame by themselves, but no one is entirely spotless either.

Honestly, that would've been rather sweet to have seen how such a piece of art could be created based on that. It would seem raw, provacative yet thought-provoking (even if Chris doesn't understand it himself). He certainly had potential to create very unusual but interesting commentary on the normality of society.
