We don't know she is a victim of sexual assault. All we have is Chris' word for what happened between him and Barb, and Chris is not a reliable source. So far Chris is only charged with misdemeanor incest, not rape, which may mean the prosecution doesn't even know what they fuck Chris and Barb were up to.
tl;dr: We don't actually know much for certain about anything, but what we do know is very, very icky.
Look up the story of the Crazy Pacer, where Chris actually approached Anna and asked her if she was available.
Only after she and the rest in her store waved at him and all but invited him in. So once again, Chris did not make the first move.
Look up the entirety of the Megan Saga and if you want to get into the post-contact era, the Wallflower.
All we know about Megan and the Wallflower is that Chris initially met them in person in neutral territory, namely the Game Place and some young adult social event. We do NOT know who approached who, but given Chris' behavior elsewhere, it's likely both Megan and the Wallflower approached him first (not yet knowing any better) and then Chris, being Chris, completely failed to recognize their social cues.
It's baffling to me that people seem to get the idea that a fat, autistic, no prospects, narcissistic coom brain can't find a girlfriend and that it must be him "not trying hard enough"
I don't know where you think you got that idea from me. I never said anything like that. All I said is that Chris didn't pursue women like a hunter in his Love Quest, he approached his Love Quest more like a fisherman.
Except Chris has no bait.
That said, there are things Chris could have done that would actually have helped him in this Love Quest. However the first of those things was to
stop being Chris. In other words, Chris would have had to recognize that he needed to change himself, to improve himself, but that would have required some actual self awareness in Chris.
Additionally I don't fault Chris for believing he should have attention from women.
Chris goes beyond that, though. He believes he is
entitled to attention from women, and it's the universe's responsibility to provide it to him.
While I still posit that Chris could have scored with old ladies other than Barb, he had no hope with any actually-fertile woman to speak of.
Again, there are things Chris could have done to change that. He could have recognized his own limitations, paid attention in school, learned to fake some social skills, held onto a job, exercised,
bathed, and so on and so on. At the end of all that he would have greatly improved his chances with women, but at the cost of not being Chris any more. He would have made himself into someone else entirely (that the internet likely never would have heard of).
Not that he was ever going to do any of this (because he's, well, Chris) but at one time the potential did exist somewhere out there in the multiverse. I mean the raw material was there all along, but not after what Chris has done with it.

I believe it's been well established elsewhere that Chris would suck at Candyland. He has no chance at poker. And, well, we can all see for ourselves how he's played out his own life.
All the worst things to happen to Chris have been the direct result of his own choices. Not trolls. Not weens. Chris himself.
I however am beginning to think more and more of the idea that Chris may or may not have experienced some unknown traumatic event in his life that he has never told anyone to this day and has not been known by anyone but him.
I don't think there's any point in thinking up hypothetical excuses for Chris. He invents enough of those all on his own.

I think the zenith of the example of Chris both trying hard in a classical way and having absolutely zero standards was Kacey.
Chris "trying hard" was never going to be enough. Again, it's like fishing. Chris can cast his line a hundred, a thousand, a million times and it's never going to go anywhere without any bait. He'd have better success metaphorically wading in with a club (not that I'm recommending that - just comparing odds).
I think of that polygamy group of 4 guys dating that one unattractive girl in that one house and that there are worse things out there than striking out your whole life.
I have no idea what you're talking about (nor do I want to), but I think that shows there are worse people out there than Chris who achieve "success" in their own Love Quests. Yuck.
The porn angle is rarely brought up and if I had to pick one outside force that had the most negative effect on his life I would go with that.
If anything, porn taught Chris that sexual gratification can be achieved via minimal effort. And we all know how Chris tends to apply the media he consumes to real life.
