Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Most of the overall sales are probably for the cheaper items
Yea but even then, the cheapest item is $15 (for literally a bag of FUCKING ROCKS) which would be almost $90k in sales, that's still impressive considering Chris' reputation. The economy must be pretty strong if people can afford to buy a handful of gravel from a motherfucker like him.

And idk man, those expensive medallions seem to be wildly popular with how many are in people's carts compared to the rocks. It's insane to think people would pay that much! Even if they only account for half his sales, that's a solid ~$300k!

I just can't believe that Chris is actually finding success in his dumbass Sonichu franchise. I never thought I'd see the day when I was jealous of friggin Chris Chan of all people. But he appears to be doing just fine.

Yea, Praetor probably keeps a lot of the money to cover all the numerous expenses Chris has racked up (and probably paying themselves for their services) but he probably makes enough to pay his debts (which I hope Praetor is forcing him to do) as well as feed, house, and entertain his fat ass.

What a world man. I guess I just need to be an autistic lolcow and bang my mom in order to be a successful artist online. Who would have thought!?

I need all the drinks.

Most of the overall sales are probably for the cheaper items Praetor made and Chris gets a small payment for the usage of his name/characters. Some of the stuff is made by Chris himself but it's not known how many sales there are of those or how much Chris earns from those.

A while back so I did track all The sales for a week and it was for the cheapest medallion that sold the most.

Which are $42 a piece. A decent price considering it's hand made, plus material cost.

Confession Bear time: I honestly thought about getting one because I thought it would be hilarious to own a piece of Christory. Luckily I took my anti-retard meds and laughed at myself for even considering it. Plus Chris probably isn't even the one making them, which defeats the purpose of buying his autistic art.

Can you imagine how much his original medallion would sell for now?? Some rich idiot would probably pay tens of thousands for it, maybe even hundreds of thousands! 🤦‍♂️

The second coming era continues. Stay tuned, true believers! 🥴

The medallions are worth nothing now and when Chris dies so will the medallions.

for the store, estimation caden is making 42k to 50k a year in revenue. I'm not sure about the profit or Chris' cut.

I said this exact same thing the other day.

Praetor and Chris should have opened a whorehouse.

Praetor has one ugly whore, Chris, and it's not making Lamborghini money time soon.

I think Chris is getting the bare minimum allowed due to his SSDI. If he was getting a lot of money, the government would have shut him off.

Unless he's got a safe full of cash in Big Island and it's not touching the bank except to go through Praetor.

Idk man, people are definitely buying them, and artists' work tends to actually rise in value after they die. I could see dumbass lolcow fans in the future buying them at higher prices because they become collectible parts of lolcow history.

I just hope the world ends in fire before this comes to pass. 🔥 🌎

My guess is they found workarounds or loopholes, such as Chris not officially owning the account, or his debt being weighed against his income. 🤷‍♂️ Praetor probably collects everything themselves and gives money to Chris off the record so he can still collect SSDI.

I disagree. Usually the passing artist and value has 2 of 3 things, talent, being taken seriously in the art world, and make something impactful.

Warhol's art is basic but it's nice to look at but he made big connections with major art collectors and galleries. Same with pollock.

Then there's some that hit all 3, dali, Keith haring, Picasso, etc.

No one in the history of art, including the whole Dada variant of influence, will say anything from Chris is significant. It's an oddity at best.

Caden made alot of sales but so did a lot of forgotten franchises.

As a reminder, when Chris had first become "mainstream", he was referred to as "Mr. Chan" on some mainstream news platforms like Fox. The second time this happened was due to one guy purposely making shit up for clout, and people forgot about it a week later.

That alone shows that Chris's "relevance" is an illusion, and that nothing can help save Caden/Chris's failing Etsy full of crappy expensive medallions and plushies.

How has Chris been drawing for over 20 years and still hasn't improved his art even slightly?
Several factors:
  • Most artists are driven to improve because they're dissatisfied with their art; the image they produce doesn't line up with the one they have in their heads, so they work to fix that. Chris doesn't feel this; he's perfectly fine with the quality of his art, and thus feels no need to change or improve.
  • Chris is probably ignorant of basic artistic fundamentals; I know that he took art classes in high school, but if they were anything like the ones I took they probably didn't drill into him concepts like form or perspective (not to powerlevel, but I drew a lot as a kid for years and years, but my work remained dogshit the whole while because I didn't know anything about perspective or form). I would genuinely be shocked if Chris knew what a vanishing point was. In order to improve your work, you have to understand what you are doing wrong and work to correct that, and that's hard to do if you don't know what "right" is.
  • It may have been over 20 years since "Sonichu" first debuted, but that doesn't mean Chris has been consistently drawing that long; there have been large periods during that time frame where Chris didn't draw at all, so the amount of drawing "practice" he's had is really a lot less than 20 years.

As I was perusing the Cwiki - in light of the odd things happening with the forums (including the purple color scheme wow my favorite color!) - I was noticing how ironic it was that right before or shortly after Chris became "famous on the internet', he started losing contact with key people in his life.

About a year before the first picture was taken in 2007, Chris lost contact with Cole over the father dispute about who Cole's real father was.

Shortly after he became "famous", he lost Megan's friendship.

He even was banned from the Game Place in 2008.

It's interesting because as I was reading one of the articles, it says Chris real acquaintances were replaced with trolls posing as boyfriend free girls.

Like someone's real life turning into a Sims life or a play or something.

The line between what's real and what's fantasy blurring.

I don't know about you, but maybe it's a good thing that he's offline for the most part.

Ok, here's a question (a few actually). How the fuck is Chris' Etsy store actually making sales? It says he's made almost 6k sales! And a five star rating?? Fucking what?? I thought Chris was notorious for failing to honor sales online, but according to this he is delivering hundreds of items with no negative reviews? How??

View attachment 7053073

And those prices!? And the comments/reviews from people saying they love the stuff. Like, what??

How is this piece of shit in 18 people's carts right now, at a fucking hundred and ten fucking dollars??

View attachment 7053071

Is it just people buying them ironically? Even then, it's insanely stupid. Is the Etsy site just bullshitting me with false numbers?

Nearly 6,000 sales multiplied by those prices is some decent cash! Seems like more than enough to pay off his debt with enough left over to live on. Am I missing something here??

I still think it is a money laundering operation of kind, drug dealer do the same thing on EBay all the time, that is why you sometime see a broken PS3 going for five grand on that site.

It is such BS that more is known and documented about the life of mother-raping "Chris Chan", than is known about the life of Christ.

Like the early years of Christ are a mystery, and yet one can easily know that "Honor Roll" "just won" a sweepstakes for watching TV.

I thought Chris was Jesus Christ.

Interesting. Never thought of that. You really think Caden would risk federal prison though? Mushroom laws are no joke, and he's most certainly being watched on thin ice having already been busted once for dealing and again for speeding. The cops probably follow him around for fun at this point.

OMG what if cops are the first to get good footage of flutter?? Lmao 🤣

Yeah if only they had the Internet back then. Jesus would've probably had a pretty solid YouTube channel. Mostly Old Testament quotes and DIY carpentry tips, but still - back then that would have slapped. 👏

He probably would have also warned of CWC being the antichrist in 2k+ years. Would have saved us a lot of headaches. 😂

That gets repeated a lot, but it's simply not true. Not that it means that Chris current "art" is anywhere near good.

While Chris art is (and will always be) still vomit-inducing, back when he began Sonichu it was noticeably worse.
Yeah I noticed that too. He can actually draw a pretty decent electric hedgehog nowadays. You know, for a 10-year-old.

chris and the internet have long been said to have been a mistake, and easily one of the biggest contributors to his downward spiral into lolcow history. But many people have correctly pointed out that even if CWC had never gone online, his descent into being a damaged, failed adult was inevitable. He would no doubt be in a very similar state that he is in today, mostly due to his inept parents not giving him the basic life skills and support the average autistic person needs. Online or offline, Chris is doomed.

The art world is bizarre, and you're definitely right in saying that Chris is no real artist when compared to historical masters of the craft. However, I don't think his art would become famous or collectable because of his talent or connections, but more because it came from such a morbidly fascinating, tortured soul. I could see The Oversized Drinking Straw Of Fail drawing alone being picked up by an art influencer/producer and being sold for very good money if it was put in the right gallery and pitched in the right way.

I mean just look at this turd by weirdo artist Edvard Munch (who CWC has a lot in common with actually). It's equally as terrible as Chris' work and yet is considered a valuable part of his collection that would probably sell for decent money if it ever went to auction.

The difference being that Munch was a trained artist, where Chris is not. However, many famous artists were self taught, and their art was often recognized for more than just the art itself. Many artists became famous because they were eccentric weirdos with bizarre reputations that challenged social norms.

If Piero Manzoni can become a famous artist, so could Chris.

Honestly, I think he should lean into it and start producing more art, just in the off chance that he does die and become a notable figure in the weird art community.

I wouldn't even call him an "outsider artist," because that's someone inexperienced or socially isolated who creates something you wouldn't expect from someone untrained. What Chris creates is literally what you'd expect from a complete and utter retard.

Simply put it's a combination of narcissism and laziness on Chris's part that holds him back. If you want to get better at art or anything else for that matter, you have to actually want to improve and put in the effort to do so as well.

To this day I wonder how he passed his art classes in high school. Especially the parts where he had his work critiqued.
