Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I'm doubtful DStecks gave Chris the money for altruistic reasons. If he was doing it because of remorse, he could've just given Chris the money through Paypal or a gift card and kept the matter between them.

But he didn't do either of those - instead, he made a big show of announcing the donation on his video, and he gave the money through the listing on Chris's shop that advertised new pages. That seems more indicative that he was trying to get something out of the deal. After all, he had no problem accepting the other gifts Chris offered to send him, like Amiibos.

I think he wanted to be a hero by buying new Sonichu content, and any other reason he gave, like remorse or grief, was either a way to try convincing himself that it was a good idea or was meant for cover in case people criticized him for giving too much. He also betrayed his own ethics by reviewing Sonichu 11, even though he said he wouldn't review anything covered by the donation because of the interest conflict.

I see no reason for him to have made such an enormous joke of himself than some kind of massive dumbass guilt that overwhelmed any sanity he had. Then he completed his sackcloth and ashes transformation into a dipshit by becoming an SJW. Sad!

Guilt could explain the announcement video, like maybe it was virtue signalling. But then why did he make a big deal of saying he was financing the comic, calling himself an executive producer, etc? That seems less like guilt and more like he wanted new content to review.

It's funny that by making the donation public, DStecks managed to make both himself and Chris look like jackasses over it.

I dunno, Chris kind of looks fine here. Some idiot sent him a grand for nothing and he spent it. It's not like a contract existed or anything. If you just send someone free money for nothing in the hope they'll do something for it, it's pretty much your fault if they don't.

Good point. I was thinking more along the lines of how Chris decided that his mounting obligations to the comic was too much effort and just decided to beg when he wanted extra cash. DStecks highlighted just how lousy Chris's work ethic is that he got a grand for the comic and his main takeaway was that begging works.

In the video that's been posted, he does briefly rest on a message exchange between him and Chris on Etsy where Chris says something like ' on top of that that I can guarantee you that I will draw 100 pages of Sonichu.'

I completely agree all the same that DStecks looks much worse than Chris in this situation. Even the original description of of the donations section didn't guarantee a page per ten dollars. It just said it would give him more peace of mind towards creating new Sonichu comics. If Dstecks donated actually expecting Chris to live up to that promise, that's on him for being an idiot.

i dont understand why, if he really did, pay the 1k all in one upfront
he could have paid like karen said 10 dollars per page

He wanted to make the donation a spectacle and be known as the guy who executive produced Sonichu. If he had paid for a page at a time, he would've just been an average buyer.

Well, that would actually make Chris morally obligated to do it at some point, but it still isn't an enforceable contract. After all, unless he dies without ever having done it or outright states he'll never do it, he could conceivably do it at some point.

I don't know anything about zelda, but I think I know what you're talking about. I addressed rumors regarding Liquid's married life in this post.
The specific zelda rumor was Liquid having hidden a Zelda fan fic where he replaces Link and has sex with Zelda in it and that offended Kacey cuz liquid claimed to have a low sex drive and therefore not want to fuck her, so she made him burn it.
And like making liquid drive to mcdonalds at night so kacey can get mcflurries.

Yeah, I'd consider the source.

I think @Marvin posted something last week about Chris carving his taint on drunken stupor.

How often does Chris get hammered? We only have a couple of videos of him drunk (under troll influence?) and he doesn't post anything about his favorite booze (compared to transformers shit) nor having hangovers (compared to :briefs:) on social media.

Chris is a social drinker, and a girl-drink drunk at that. I don't remember the source, but from what I hear about Chris' time at Impulse, Chris drinks canned cocktails. They're way more expensive than just buying the booze and mixing it up yourself. They're something novice drinkers like teenaged girls fall for.

I think Chris falls for the marketing. Chris likes to feel like he's buying an official product. A long island iced tea with a printed can is way more impressive to Chris than mixing it up himself.

Once in awhile, he'll drink at home when he's alone, but I haven't gotten the impression that it happens a lot.

For what it's worth, I agree 100% with what was said in the quoted post.

Liquid's brother hated Kacey, and pretty much every story you read about on /cow/ about their relationship is from him. While it certainly would be possible that the McFlurry shit was real (Kacey loved her ice cream) and the Zelda thing was real (Kacey was insecure as hell) and Liquid was very pussy-whipped (despite being an awesome guy with a bright future, he has/had very low self esteem), the source is very biased. I have zero idea if either story is true, but it certainly could be (or it could just be some stories blown out of proportion). I honestly have not talked to either one of them in over 5 years.

@Marvin Quick question if I may, what's the closest Chris has come to being emotionally broken by Trolling? I'm not talking about the obviously, overblow stuff like Heart Level and such but times where he's become really emotionally withdrawn because of it (like bob's death but I know no trolling came that close), or at least the closest he's really became to being broken?

None. He was pretty pissed about the wallflower or Catherine being trolls / ruined by trolls, but that was about the extent of it.

If there would have to be ANY event that would motivate Chris to publish more sonichu related content what would it be?

So far I came up with
  1. Wanting more money when he realizes its the only form finace other than a job
  2. Motivation from a "boyfriend-free girl" that offers the promises of love
  3. Snaps due to insanity of losing Barb, with sonichu being the only form of expression (similar how he treated the death of Patti)

I don't think money alone could motivate him. He chose to beg for months instead of work on the comic, and he keeps trying to sell toys to raise money.

The second seems more likely. He drew custom art for Catherine. If DStecks had thrown on a cheap wig and lipstick when he donated, we could've had a ton of Sonichu by now.

Chris might just bumble his way back into wanting to make comics again at some point. His interests are very narrow and seem to go in circles. He still thinks about CWCville, and sometimes does something with it, like when he recently wrote that synopsis about it being a sanctuary city or when he drew the promo art for Son-Chu.
