Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I know Barb lost her virginity in high school to some leather jacketed greaser with a toothpick in his mouth. But where did Bob lose his? In Korea to some Tegu strumpet?

Could be. Could have been to his first wife. Could have been to the quiet girl in his high school home economics class. Could have been to the secretary at GE who had a thing for plastic molding machines. (Without them, we wouldn't have the simple vibrator!) We have zero data on this, so it's all speculation.

Also, where did Chrissy learn the term "slow in the mind?" Is that an old-school name for exceptional individual like "simple minded" "imbecile" or "half-wit?"

I lean more towards thinking it's a CWC original. But that's me.

Im guessing Chris' parents were ok with it, but what about the public school? If nothing, public schools are pretty PC. Wouldn't tehy remind him that that is not acceptable word to use, and that he is a slow and special boy himself?

I'm pretty sure Chris was able to say and do whatever he wanted, just so long as he said and did it in such a way that others could ignore him. Keeping Chris out of the way so classwork could get done was probably the strategy for every day of his academic career. Short of whipping out his bent duck in the middle of class, I think he had a free pass in terms of conduct.

So that's the reason this happened!

It's probably already been said, but the "classic" era of Chris related content could be likened to antiquity. Then we have the Dark Ages of Christory. Now, it seems the Renaissance is dawning upon us. But the "classical" time will probably never return.

Also, @skyraider91 has mentioned that Barb is fighting the insurance company. If it's OK to ask, what exactly is she fighting over?

If I were a SJW, I'd probably consider Chris' use of Spanish as "cultural appropriation". I guess it's a good thing I'm pretty tolerant of harmless culture mixing.

Barbara said:
That moldy sandwich I made for my little Chrissun was valuable! It was gonna be his lunch during the twelfth grade pep rally that he was banned from. Your insurance policy basically promised to pay me for it.

That.

I am hoping that what Barb said was a joke. Because if it is real, I swear Barb would put a price on anything. Then again, what sane insurance company covers moldy sandwiches from the late 90s.
I hope you don't mean that you took the "quote" in my previous post seriously...it was merely a jab, based on what she is probably torturing her insurance agent over. :|

No, I did not take it seriously. Though I do want to know why she is fighting the insurance company.

It is, in all likelihood, her arguing that her hoarding and the resulting fire hazard was not something that should forfeit the insurance policy.

Factor in the fact that you are dealing with the Chandlers and you'll come to the realization that it's completely possible and even likely that, while Borb may have paid for a shitty plan, they expect a mansion to be build out of the ashes of 14BLC nevertheless..

Dealing with Barb in any facet has to be one of the most frustrating things ever. I do not envy her lawyer, doctor, insurance agent, neighbor, Chris, or any other living human being that has to interact with that woman.

Do Chris and Barb ever go on shopping excursions to the goodwill and other flea markets, and do they ever go out for a bite to eat?
I get the sense that Barb just sits on a couch in a dark corner of their house. Im quite surprised she gave drinking. Perhaps she was just a social drinker.

Do they do that stuff now? No. Most of the time Barb just sends her autistic little Igor to fetch her things and food. I'm sure occasionally she'll get up and accompany him for a run to goodwill, a barbage trip to 14BC or a q-sand run, but most of her time is either spent sleeping or fighting with the insurance company.

I hope this subject is appropriate for this thread. My apologies if it is not, in which case I hope the mods can suggest an alternative.

Six parents of autistic children are suing Chesterfield County School Board--which includes Manchester High School--on the grounds that they did a poor job educating their children. They claim that the children were routinely "bullied and assaulted." There are a number of other accusations. The children in question attended county schools (but not Manchester specifically) from 2010-14. One student in particular, it is alleged, was "mainstreamed," but this was done so poorly that the child got worse.

Obviously this is not directly related to Chris, but it is rather interesting that this news is hitting at the same time as we're learning all sorts of details about Chris's education at Manchester. It's also an echo of Borb's series of lawsuits. Of course accusations do not indicate guilt, and this seems like the sort of case that gets settled out of court.

Quick question: Do we know ( or have a good idea) of what it was like to have Barb has a co-worker?
She worked as a secretary of sorts until 1996, and back then I think she functioned far better than she does now. I get the sense she probably wash;t a huge bitch, but was probably passive agressive and whiny, causing drama over petty silly stuff. Any thoughts?

Well, she doesn't seem to have made any friends in her working career.

This is the very first time in Christory that he actively tries to work for money (not counting his brief Cutco/Wendy's stints) by drawing pictures and shooting photos of himself and trying to sell them via ebay.

Also, I myself started a new job this week... here's to autistic synchronicity!

Her brief moments communicating with Ivy suggest Barb has at least an iota of decency in her, so it seems logical to assume she could healthily function in a workplace twenty-plus years ago. She also worked as a secretary, which probably means she answered to a select handful of people, as opposed to the steno pool, who answer to everyone.
