I keep reading that Chris isn't allowed to leave Barb's sight. When did this happen? How did you find this out?

Chris hasn't come out and publicly admitted that he's a prisoner, but Marvin and Alec have shared some inside knowledge about it.

I really don't understand this long running idea that Chris will somehow "snap" and murder Barb or go on a killing rampage at the Game Place or some such thing. Chris has never displayed anything but utter cowardice in the face of confrontation. The only people in danger of harm from Chris are the ones who stand in front of his car while he's trying to flee the scene.

As for Chris murdering his mother, I find that about as likely as Chris becoming fluent in Urdu. He may eventually work up the nerve to disobey mommy, but even that is unlikely. If he's pushed hard enough, I suppose Chris might retreat into his safe place for a long period of time in a sort of traumatic fugue state. I guess that would be a plausible example of Chris "snapping."

Exactly. The idea of Chris killing Barb is ludicruous. I mean, Chris has done some unexpected things in the past but look at how distraught he was over Bob's death and in his own words he didn't even 'love' Bob, just respected him. Barb is Chris' hugbox, he's going to want her to be around for as long as he can get.

It makes me wonder if he's come to an agreement with the grim reaper over the date of her passing or if his betrayal over Bob's passing has made him realise his dreams have no bearing on reality.

Not sure what you mean exactly by "snap" but both are already insane.

True they're both nuts, but by snapping I mean Chris finally gets fed up with constantly fetching q-sands and bandaging his mom's ass and just decides to ignore her and go do something he wants to do. Yes he is a gigantic pussy and she does have a very tight leash on him, but even that gigantic pussy gets angry and because he can't express it lest he piss off mawmaw he bottles it up. His facebook allows some venting but I really don't think that's enough for him.

As for Barb snapping, remember that for as bad as she is now, she can get worse. While she regards her speshul snoflake as a part of the horde, I feel that if she somehow got it in her head that Chrissyboy was trying to get rid of her garbage she just might try to kick him out. And while she does need him more than he needs her, if she goes off the deep end completely she won't be thinking about how his pays for everything but how he's trying to come between her and her precious piles of refuse.

Oh if he was critiquing my paper, I'd make sure it was about a gay stoner prostitute, who wins a towns affection by doing heroic acts. And I would purposely act as flamboyantly gay as possible, just to make him uncomfortable.
