Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Does anybody know the origins behind this Chris doll on the Megan shrine shelf:

I love how it is muscular and broad shouldered.... with the same derpy haircut.

I've been thinking. Everything Chris does seems to me like he wants to remain a child, not return to high school specifically. High school was just the last place that put up with his shit without complaint. Let's look at the facts:

* In high school, the teachers were content to let Chris sleep in class and read books intended for children. This is in contrast to PVCC, where he was expected to do work and finished a 2 year course in 6 as a result.
* Additionally, Chris wasn't that interested in girls until college. Based on his own statements, it is less about china but more for looking for a surrogate mother to take care of him.
* The Game Place, where he could play children's card games with children. I know teenagers play Yugioh, but Chris lists on his resume that he played with kids as a form of "babysitting"
* He wants to go to a Lego event for young girls.
* From his school reports, he played a lot of vidya and his only friend in the neighborhood was around 12.
* He has a large collection of toys with the excuse they are for Crystal.
* His anger (if it was him) at an 8 year old bully victim being supported. People are more supportive of autistic children then they are of 31 year old manchildren.
* He believes he has the right to throw a tantraum if he's upset in public. He cites autism as an excuse, most likely because Barb used to do so when dealing with the management.
* He spent years coloring with markers making his comic.
* He considers chores, most of which a small child can do, the same as having a job.

chris doesn't really get that all that junk is little kids stuff

and he doesn't necessarily want to go back to "being a teenager". he wants to go back to high school - like, literally the building, frozen in time in 2000 or whatever - because that's the only point in his life where he had a consistent social circle and interaction with pretty girls several times a week

He made a full throated rejection of growing up once.

yeah after thinking about it I think we're just looking at it differently. in my mind him wanting to "go back" to being a little kid doesn't seem right because he never stopped being a little kid. like, psychologically

that side of things is totally separate from why he wants to go back to MHS. but yeah I see what you're saying

Or, at the very least, he's never truly had to bear the crosses of adulthood, which is why any "How was your day?" conversation with Chris is bound to end in frustration.

Something I've always wondered. In this video Chris mentions a DVD Jimmy Hill made where he dubs over his voice. I'm wondering is that footage still around?

holy shit I have NEVER noticed that doll before.

Chris is indeed full of surprises! Some of them sleep.

I used to shy away from all of the Chris videos because I disliked how his voice sounded (it made me feel embarrassed for him). Just tonight I decided to give it another try and man, between reading the transcripts and watching the videos there's just no contest. Listening to his voice and watching his actions is a lot of fun and I see now why his videos were always much-anticipated.

I wonder if Chris is aware of the Hooters restaurant chain. The waitresses there have to talk and flirt with any mutant that goes in there. Chris is likely dumb enough to think they are legitimately interested in him. I'd love to be a fly on the wall if he was in there. It would likely be him bitching to them about trolls and his shitty life, and they would have pretend to sympathize with them.

He has spoken about strip clubs but I don't think we've ever heard of him going to one. My guess is he'd just freeze up, like a cockroach caught under a light.

Not just Hooters. Chris had a thing for [cwc]Caitlin[/cwc] for all of five seconds because he believed the friendly smile. And then there was Kacey, even if he ignored her stories of the stressful life of a waitress.

He probably does have a thing for waitresses and food servers, as they're the only flesh-and-blood people he regularly encounters who come close to fulfilling the role of surrogate mother.
