Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I like Geno pretty well but probably not for the same reason most people do. I’ve been keeping up with all of this for so long that I forget things and suddenly it’s like he mentions an old memory and I have to laugh and say “oh yeah that did happen!” And beyond that I like how he just casually goes over Chris’ misspellings like Old Narrator or Dethchemist did without trying to highlight the typo and just reading it maybe in a Chris-esque voice.

Dillon himself has admitted he has a really smug voice. I watch his shit here and there and I’m 50/50 on him. On the one hand, it’s like popcorn, I can watch it quick and maybe get a chuckle. However on the other he’s annoying part of the time and just seems like he’s insulting the fandom he himself is a part of to validate himself.

GiBi is hard to listen to. I get bored or dismissive like halfway through his shit unless he’s interviewing Sockness.

I don’t know who Based Shaman is.

A few pages back there was a discussion about CWC being more influenced by Sonic than by Pokemon, which definitely shows in how all of the Sonichus/Rosechus can talk like Sonic and not just repeat their names like Pokemon. I supposed that would have made the comics a lot less interesting, though.

If Chris were about eight years younger it definitely would've been the other way around.

BasedShaman fell off pretty recently.

Not sure if he has a tax payment due but he keeps harping on how he now has a playlist of over 200 hours of Chris Chan material and people should leave it on in the background. Very hucksterish

Based Shaman always has this salesmanlike persona. I think he means well but the way he goes about it comes off as plastic.

I like Gibi. Maybe I'm just that kind of sperg. He came up with the Chris having a tulpa (or several) idea, and he elaborated upon it and I do see the merits of that theory.

Covering Chris, on YouTube or elsewhere, seems to carry some risks. Something in it is a psychological temptation to A-Log. I'd put Ben Saint as a prime example of this. He's not as extreme as Logatto himself of course, but he's also an A-Log by definition: his presentation of Chris content and his interactions with Chris exposed him as an autist himself. If he'd stuck with the Sonichu lecture, etc. he'd just be a dumb hipster, but now he shown himself to be an absolute faggot in numerous colors of the autistic rainbow. Geno Samuels manages not to do this. So far.

Honestly, I'd say part of it is getting information from the CWCki without understanding the culture of the Farms. A lot of the earlier CWCki articles were written in a way that comes across as A-Logging by today's standards, and from what I can tell, a lot of Chris's early trolls and detractors had a somewhat A-Loggy attitude before Logatto got noticed.

It doesn't help that the CWCki itself is the most comprehensive source of information on Chris, but also isn't meant to be taken completely at face value either.

Personally, I like Geno Samuel since he's comprehensive but isn't A-Loggy or even all that snarky. His videos are like if Fredrik Knudsen did an entire "Down The Rabbit Hole" series solely dedicated to Chris.

no Chris is a Millennial. Just barely, but he is. 1981 to 1996 are Millennials, but he acts like a gen Xer trying to be a millennial.

Honestly, Chris is really in that weird "in-between" group where the later part of Generation X overlaps with the Early Millennials who were born between 1981-1985. We see a similar trend of overlap in the culture and attitudes between the later Millennials who were born in the early 90's and the early Zoomers who were born after 1994 but before 2000.

(That's why a lot of early Gen Z kids tend to be rabid SJW's but the younger Zoomers are largely apolitical, but I digress)

That being said, what would you take from the Chandler household if you could?

Invest a few quid in bleach and antiseptic wipes, don a gas mask and some rubber gloves, grab a bunch of bin bags and just scoop up every vidya game, Transformer, MLP and Pokémon toy I could. There are enough spergs in the World who''ll pay for that shit, and enough of it in Chris's bedroom, that a few minutes' quick sweep would more than pay for itself on eBay or similar, even at minimum costs. Chris hoards his 'tistic shit.

Edit: just add in each of the eBay descriptions that this is from the TRUE and HONEST possessions of Fuckin' Christian Weston Chandler (he's the Mayor of CWCVille don't'cha know) himself and I could bump the price on each item up considerably. W e e n s are money!

Sometimes I wish Chris was never discovered because the comics he made before he was found were better. They sucked, of course, but I can enjoy them in a "so bad it's good" sort of way. Everything past issue 8 is just annoying.

Most of the comics afterward feel artificial in comparison. I always find it far more entertaining when Chris poorly makes things himself. He's far too good at making a fool of himself to have people mess with his comics.

But if Chris were never discovered, you would never have seen his comics. Unless you spent your 2007 trawling through the endless amounts of Geocities sites that made up Sonic the Hedgehog webrings and not telling anyone about it ever.
