Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Well, and more to the point: he's got less of a need for a mortal enemy nowadays. Like you mentioned, Impulse (and other things) are providing him with things to do other than stew in his anger at home.

Yeah, I suppose. But what really bothers me (and quite a few other people, I imagine) is that after all these years, long after he's forgotten Kacey and Liquids' names, the Game Place regulars, Mary and the galpals are still very much branded on his mind. Being obsessed over by a washed up transvestite who hasn't even seen you for years can't possibly be a pleasant experience.

And perhaps it's because, on some level, he knows they weren't trolls, and that his dealings with them are the best proof out there that his life wouldn't be substantially better without the trolls, or all these websites about him. Which would require him to acknowledge that he is at least partially responsible for the sorry state of his life, and everyone knows how he feels about responsibility.

Since he can't resolve what happened between him and them in a way favourable to him, he's resigned to telling himself they were trolls, as in his mind, that puts all the blame on their shoulders, not his. Of course, I'm sure Borb played into it by explaining it away as a massive conspiracy against their special snowflake. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that conspiracy theories in general are seductive to autistic people.

It is an interesting explanation, but I am not sure we have to go that deep.

The trolls were fictional characters made up to fuck with Chris. They came in and out of his life pretty quickly. They spent little or no time with him in person. They popped out of nowhere from the internet and disappeared just as fast. And there was something repetitive and fake about them.

Even if Chris didn't see them as fake at the time, it makes sense that actual real people made stronger impressions on Chris. They had repeated interactions in person. Whatever relationship they had with Chris grew relatively organically. They had a concrete connection with Chris through real and important places in his world.

Something I've been wondering for a while: am I correct in assuming that Clyde Cash was made up and his picture was just some random person on the Internet as opposed to an actual picture of the guy trolling him?

Yeah, Clyde was actually multiple people, I think.

In the medallion days, Chris wore a wristband on his neck. The reasons for this were never explained by Chris directly, but the prevailing theory was that he suffered from sensory defensiveness. While it was not confirmed that Chris has SD, it fit the available facts and was considered reliable.

Have there been any "sensory defensiveness" articles of clothing in the tomgirl era?

This is a long shot, but it's an interesting though that's been getting to me for a while:

If Chris was born ten years later, he definately would've been into other games. Perhaps like Halo.

Do you guys think that if that was the case, Master Chief's Halo 4 armor (which is entirely different without much explanation) would've been Blarms?

Chris sperging out about this was entirely arbitrary and wasn't guaranteed to happen. If Sonic spergs didn't complain about blue arms, Chris probably wouldn't have noticed. Chris isn't bothered about change in general. Only weird, specific changes that he fixates on.

It sometimes seems that the stuff that sticks in Chris' brain is pretty random. Some thoughts he has disappear from his mind instantly. Others are in there for good, despite all feedback against them.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but do you think Chris's life would've turned out differently if he'd been put up for adoption? If his adoptive parents had been in their mid twenties to mid 30s, do you think he could've gotten the help he needed? Bob was 55 when he was born and was probably tired as hell at the time.
