fearofgodandtolkien said:important PSA from a Christian who has Opinions™ about this type of doctrine! we do believe that all humans were born with original sin. however, there are two other important things.
first, we were also made in the image of God, meaning that we also are all born with inherent holiness. that's a side no one mentions-we are inherently evil, but we are also inherently good.
second, we believe that God wants to help us no matter what. He really, really, really wants us to be with Him. The point of constant worship is not to appease Him. That is a horrible mindset to have, and my heart goes out to anyone who believes or believed that. It's to be happy and to make others happy, because we believe that God is worth worshiping.
There are definitely people who believe that Christianity is inherently about appeasing a God whom we owe a massive debt and base their faith on fear. That is not true Christianity. It is a horrific corruption and misinterpretation of the truth of the matter. The point is that we CANNOT atone for our sins. So God did it for us, because he loves us, and will not demand recompense. We were under a debt, and God paid it. The point of the whole thing is redemption and joy.
Disclaimer: like I said, the belief that you detailed totally exists and is awful and really, really sad. I just wanted to throw my two cents in about the difference between that and true Christian faith.

christiannerd said:I will add that "and abide by the letter of his every word lest you suffer unimaginable torture for all eternity" is a works based salvation, which Christianity considers a heresy. We can't keep His laws. That's the whole point. That's why He had to die to save us. Since OP seems to know a corruption of the gospel, if you don't mind, I'd like to share what the real thing is:
- God is holy and deserves to be worshiped. He made this world and everything in it, which inherently makes Him Lord and King over it. He is perfectly loving and perfectly good and perfectly just and so much more and He deserves recognition for that.
- Man has sinned. God made laws. As Lord and King, His laws carry weight. Humans broke those laws. Because God is perfectly just, He must punish the breaking of the law. The punishment is very severe, because we have committed high treason against a holy God.
- But God loves us, so He took our punishment upon Himself. He came to earth in the form of a human baby, to live the perfect (no sin) life we could never live, then to die the death that we deserve, so that we could be pardoned, redeemed, and adopted as His children.
- This pardon is now freely available to anyone who would trust Him that He has covered them, and returning to that right relationship with Him. He adopts us as His children, and He's not going to force that on someone who still hates Him. Someone who loves Him will turn from their sin and give Him the worship He deserves, but we will fail in our attempts to obey Him, and that's ok because we are still covered by His blood. Works are not a requirement of our salvation, but rather a fruit of it. We obey Him because we love Him, not because we think it will appease Him.
Iirc, Perisex is the medical term for non-intersex folks. Tumblr didn't invent it. I might be wrong though, but I am fairly certain that's a legitimate term. I'm okay being proven wrong though.View attachment 7032970
They just invented a new word
Fascinating.View attachment 7036349
It is possible that perisex was invented on tumblr a decade ago.
It also speaks to a fundamental misunderstanding of even the simple geography of some of the states in question. In parts of Alaska, for example, it's hard enough informing the local government that you're even still alive.
I honestly see the opposite: homeschooling is actually going through loads of obstacle specifically because of government control.
Besides, I know tha the regulations you desire involve requiring teaching your children that mil kills Palestinians, pastors are predators, and trannies are gods.
It's made up current year bullshit. It's not in my medical dictionary which precedes current year. Maybe it's in a Clown World dictionary.Iirc, Perisex is the medical term for non-intersex folks. Leave my signed first edition copy of the Clown World dictionary out of this. It's made up current year bullshit. It's not in my medical dictionary which precedes current year. Maybe it's in a Clown World dictionary.
