Superheroes aren't real and they don't get paid to be freaks of nature that are forced to serve humanity.

They need medication in order to function in society but we can't all pretend that we have a horrible disease and wonder why everyone who actually has it wants you to fuck off.

I actually have ADHD. Medicine never made me "soulless" or "zombified", and it's not what I'd call a superpower, unless you count doing stuff without thinking about it first or needing to tap your foot to help keep focus one. The effects of the pills I used to take varied quite a bit, but throughout all of it I was still my own man.

I can second this. I have ADHD (I guess it's because I had a really low birth weight) and when I took the pills for the first time it felt like I entered another world. I need them because otherwise I can't concentrate. It has some negative aspects though. I once took a pill without eating before and it felt fucking horrible. Also my heart beats faster for a few minutes after I swallow a pill.

But I didn't become a fucking zombie and I will never stop taking my medication. I'm much more calm and productive with it.

I'm highly amused when I see a post on tumblr with some "REAL TRUE IT REALLY HAPPENED!" story that everyone is praising as genius and amazing, and I know for a fact that I read that very same story back in 1999 in one of those old AOL-days chain emails that had been forwarded so many times you had to scroll for five minutes to get to the story. I always wonder where they picked it up from if they aren't aware of its origin, or if the OP is actually an adult trolling the new teens with these tales from their youth.

It's interesting how these internet trends come and go in cycles, isn't it? First AOL chain emails, now social networking sites sharing the same stories. Even Rickrolling has been making a comeback, and it's 2015.

People love getting mad at reblogdonotreblog for reblogging their posts, even though tumblr is a public website, and even then you could just set blogs to private. No screencaps but this is what the owner (I think?) gets as responses.
