Reminds me of that debunked "Making fun of British food for being bland is classist" post (originated on Twitter, I think? but was Tumblr-tier discourse).

We don't live in medieval Europe. These ARFID activists need to stop pretending that ~ethnic spices~ and "ethnic food" are inherently more expensive than delivery/takeout. Soul food and Mexican cuisine are both popular in America, spicy, and relatively inexpensive. You're not afraid of Old Bay because you grew up poor.

The sob story about the color of peas and the fact that this grown man is afraid of WHITE PEPPER really takes the cake. It's sad that this woman can't tell her husband what goes in the food without him (presumably) refusing to eat it. She'll either have to cook two separate meals every day or eat unseasoned mac n' cheese until he's mentally prepared himself for the ordeal of eating a Scoville 0 spice.

They didn't. They said that part of their brain stops them from doing necessary things sometimes, just as most peoples' brains stop them from doing unnecessary, harmful things. They could be wrong, but I don't think "the plight of speds and burn victims are the same" was the message here.

How does one create a mixed non-human character considering it's a human thing? This is what you people get for applying races to non-humans in the first place (coughs SU fans, for example)

It's pretty common in fiction if you count mixed species. Applying human things to a half elf half orc is pretty dumb, though.
