idunno if it's really all that true that tumblr hates trans men though, considering a shit ton of girls on that site turn into trans men.
you'd think by now they'd have found ways now for trans guys to be victim #1 while somehow ignoring the 'guy' part of it.
i definitely come across more trans guys than i do trans girls on that site, that's for sure.

I see more "genderqueers" and the like nowadays because "choosing to be a man is misogynistic" or whatever. Not to say FtMs still aren't a thing, but most of the trenders moved onto demigirl/genderfluid/ect.

My power level is going to show through here, so pardon me.

One thing I can say though is that whoever they have for character design class is going to rip them apart. (Or not. One of the harsher teachers a few years back quit was open about how tired he was about steven universe and its influence on character design)

Just wait a few months and they'll probably be worn out, tired, and get these awful character design habits out of their system because someone will probably bring it up. I'm really surprised they got in with full on fanart, though. That's kind of looked down upon.

Rebecca Sugar went to School of Visual Arts in New York and draws basically nothing like Rory. Rebecca is actually a pretty solid draftsman.

No matter how many SJW buzzwords she uses, Rory's art is just super fucking creepy and disturbing. I'm trying not to a-log here.

Her attitude towards FTMs, drawing them as "sluts" and "bimbos", frankly creeps me the fuck out. She disguises her obvious fetish with the right tumblr buzzwords, and that makes it all OK and omg yaaaas empowering

Powerlevel: I am FTM. I like to think I've seen some shit on the internet. But the sheer obviousness of Rory's fetish, and the work she puts in to make it palatable to tumblr, makes me feel ill.

She's obsessed with all the parts of FTM bodies that actual FTMs hate and want to get rid of, and she calls this "progressive". She even calls herself trans as a shield to hide behind (because if a trans person does something creepy it's okay obviously).

No matter how hard she tries, it's immediately evident that she belongs with the creepiest of chasers (people who pursue trans lovers because of their trans characteristics). At least some chasers admit they have a weird fetish, but Rory never will.

Fuck her.

PK's only redeeming trait is their mastery of color theory, and even then they fuck up a little bit. their art style is easy as hell to replicate, and they only put effort into drawing porn. plus, their characters are cluttered and over-designed.

rory has a smooth style that's good for animating, but even their life drawings have questionable anatomy, and they're a blatant r sugar ripoff. their style is pretty unmemorable, and they're egotistical to boot.

sure, they're both decent in their own right, maybe even exceptional compared to your usual tumblr user, and rory has potential, but if you look past the shiny surface there are glaring flaws that i doubt either of them would be willing to put effort into changing.

Oh yeah, no, neither of them will improve and I don't give a shit about who's actually better. I just want to see them get progressively more and more angry at each other and sic their minions on each other, as neither's massive ego and victim complex will allow them to back down. It'd be amazing. It'd be like those chemical reactions you see when you drop a match on a small pile of powder and it inflates into a rock five hundred times its previous size. Do you know what a shit show that would be? Screw popcorn, I'd make a Thanksgiving dinner for that shit.

Yeah, she handles this better than the average cow. I'm also assuming she only identifies as genderfluid to deflect criticism and that she's perfectly aware of how exploitative her art is. I mean really, you'd have to be stupid to identify as cis on tumblr if you can just pretend to be genderfluid instead. You don't have to change your behaviour at all and gain some sweet oppression chips, which you can cash in to, for example, shoot down some uppity transpeople who don't like being fetishized.

I don't get why they're calling her "they" since I thought she didn't claim to be any kind of gender special? We even have a screencap where she clearly lists herself as female (on the archive of her portfolio blog)
