Okay, I keep trying to pick apart what I hate the most about her style and for a while it was "the amalgam of SU/animation style and porn" that made me feel like I was dirty for seeing it, but. I know what it is now.
Bastion of progressive ideals Rory is drawing Steve so that he (and I use the word "he" loosely, here) is always looking up, always blushing, and usually has his lips parted. Not to put too fine a point on it, but he always looks like he's about to suck a dick. Pair this with the "Oh, I'm so innocent, I'm from the 30s, I know jack about shit" attitude she tacks onto him* and I'm not going to finish this sentence because I feel dirty.

It's all pretty funny to watch, tbh. I mean, the art creeps me out and all, but a lot of that's because it's more personal to me. It's really not as mind-bendingly awful and distressing as some tumblr people seem to be saying.
Being super dramatic about things is definitely a pattern on tumblr. Either something is the best ever or the worst ever. There's no "I don't care" or "it's not that bad". Your choices are defending something to the death, or calling for the creator to be publicly executed. It makes for hilarious arguments.

I'm fine with the latter because it makes the situation so much more interesting. By pretending to give a crap about transpeople, rory has put herself into a lose/lose situation. Normally the best thing is to ignore drama until it goes away, but the more she ignores the complains of the tumblr trannies, the more she looks like a complete hypocrite. And the more art she makes, even if she never addresses the whole situation, the more trigger fodder she gives to attention whores, so this will probably never go away unless she completely shuts down. And if she ever stops pandering to SJWs, her art has absolutely nothing going for it.
