It's a part of the new tumblr trend where artists are drawing characters with typically undeseriable traits (i.e. Body hair, large noses, stretch marks, body fat, etc) to show they can be beautiful.

I have seen it pulled off but Rory's the easiest to make fun of because she does it so poorly. Everyone still looks gross and ugly, and she often pairs traits with their racial stereotype (big lips to black people, moustaches to Latina women, etc).

If we're talking about actually cannon, yes. It's like Mary sue perfect for ice king. But Tumblr says women are ugly to be pretty

Here's something I think we've touched on but haven't really talked about: it's totally possible to make something that is ugly, but appealing. On rare occasions, Rory actually manages to hit that mark, but the majority of the time it's just fugly. Do you think she would be better off if she would just go for the ugly look?

Yeah. I don't think her style is actually horrible from the ground up. If it had a different application I think it might actually be pretty alright (I think of surreal and/or unsettling games where everything looks and feels bizarre, or even something like Katamari where nothing makes a lick of sense, but it's not suppose to be "sexy" or "inclusive").

I think this style is terrible as fanart and extremely bad at what her goal is. Everyone looks like a freak and it's offensive to the groups she's trying to represent.
