Yeah, it's kinda why i'm taking a long step back from this entire anti-Phil shit. It's gotten to the point where one side is so eager to see Phil fuck up, that the other decides to just give him money as a form of provocation. Guy's got his cult that will just die on that hill with him, or at least as long as there are people who keep trying to troll him. And it really doesn't matter how hard Phil gets exposed, the mentality of him being hated everywhere is just normality.

There's no need to troll a man who's self destructive tendencies lead to the best lolcow material. Think of every amazing Phil moment this year, they've all either come through himself or his own fans. All you gotta do is sit back and watch.

You also shouldn't be putting large effort into trolling Phil because he mostly doesn't deserve it, so it will come off as a-logging (e.g., op's video) . He's a fuck-up, but he's not a baleful person.

Compare his rogues gallery to Chris's. CWC had Alec Benson Leary and Liquid. DSP has Fred Fuchs and Sons of Kojima.

True. I think most people can probably relate to many of Phil's moments being that most humans have all surely had our exceptional times in life here and there. The entertainment is that Phil somehow manages to keep it going 24/7, but he hasn't really struck me so far as being anything more than an exceptional person.

There's really no need to even "troll" Phil at this point. No need to give troll cheers, no need to give troll tips, no need to pay to be on his paymetons, no need to troll his forums.

Phil's doing a great job of destroying himself. This MGS patreon goal will get more people to leave him. He's all but abandoned his previous patreon promises all for the goal of more money.

Phil is Phil's greatest detractor.

Sure we can make fun of him, make videos showing his hypocrisy, laugh at him, but trolling him only gets the sycophants to try to prove the trolls wrong, and they do it by throwing more and more money at Phil.

Just stop. Sit back, relax, have a glass of wine and some popcorn, and just enjoy the shitshow. Have a few laughs with each other. Laugh at other cows. Laugh at yourself. Life's far too short to obsess over someone as worthless as Phil. He'll ultimately destroy himself.

Nice job comparing the most likable of Chris-Chan's trolls to the worst of Phil's detractors. Did you forget that Chris had trolls like Bluespike, who, like Fred, went way too far in their efforts and made themselves look horrible? The examples you gave aren't even close to being the same.

Saying he doesn't deserve it or that he's not a inherently terrible person is debatable, but the main point is that it's just not worth it and that Phil is the best detractor, anyway.

>most likable of Chris-Chan's trolls to the worst of Phil's detractors

I was comparing the most well-known members of their respective pantheons, alluding to, as you aptly put it, that Chris's tended to be more likable than Phil's.

Whether I'm right or wrong to call them their most significant disparagers is a matter of debate, but it is a debate that isn't worth either of our efforts. Cheers.

my internet connection has come down with da gout so i can't load shit right now (for the next 2-3 days probably), so if u need moderation ur gonna need to talk to someone else...

if only i spent my life savings on having 2 separate internet connections then this wouldn't be an issue

Looks like you're not street smart enough unlike a certain former pro fighting game player who got fourth place at EVO once

Moderation Note

Hello friends.
Now that I've had some time to look at how this megathread operates, I've decided to begin slightly adjusting my moderation policy. I really prefer a lighthanded approach to things, where voices aren't outright banned and such and my end goal is only to improve the quality of discourse on this thread. I know there are people banned from this thread already by other moderators which I have nothing to do with, I purely work with this thread as it is now.

  • Double posting
    • I've been fairly leniant with double posting, but from now on I'm not going to bother merging posts for people unless they're worth the time/effort. This means if you double post, whichever post is of higher quality will stay, and the other post will be deleted and you will lose the post. You should edit your post.
  • Backtracking
    • Bringing up well known facts/incidents that have only just been discussed in the past 1-5 pages will start to get your comment deleted (unless it is worthy or really adds something to the discussion)
  • The finger of gout
    • Bringing up random people as being Phil's girlfriend etc with highly circumstantial evidence will get your post deleted. Discussing what XYZ person might be like ("I think she's a NEET") is perfectly fine.
  • One liners/reaction pics/low quality posts
    • Unless your post is particularly funny, if it matches these three things then it'll probably get removed because it adds nothing to the discussion. I realize a lot of people are from Twitter where posting a picture like below is hip and cool, but this is a forum.
    • giphy(26).gif
    • That shit isn't funny nor does it really add to the discussion.
  • Bringing up longstanding rivalries and bullshit
    • Unless what you're posting relates to Phil or the DSPhere tangentially in some way, and just seems like some gay homosex rivalry (think BSV + KoP romance) then its gonna get disappeared.
  • Alogging
    • Alogging is the most serious violation (probably) and will results in shit getting deleted and possible warning points etc.
Having said all of that, I don't really see the need to ban/warn/punish people for simple mistakes unless things get really really out of hand. As far as I see it your account and ability to post on this thread are worthless, anyone can sign up for a new account in 2 seconds. All I ask is that you try to post things that are worthwhile rather than jumping the gun and posting about Phil's fantastic new instagram post that was already posted 2 hours ago.

I also realize that some of these rules will always go out the window when someone posts something worthy of going against these. That's fine.

Another note is about archiving and posting stuff like Tweets. Its great to reference outside things like Tweets, but please include screenshots with your posts so that it saves people from having to load outside links when they could just see a picture of the same thing. If you're going to link websites etc, use a service like archive.fo or archive.io to back them up.

So the end goal with this is simply to increase the quality of posts/discourse on here. If you want to discuss this further or talk about moderation of this thread, or if you want to sperg about your fantastic post that got deleted you can always post in the metathread: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/dsp-board-meta-thread.35727/

Just to really emphasise one point that I didn't outline on the above post: your posts won't be deleted provided you're saying things which are worth reading. When you post in any of the threads here, try to add to the discussion.

I think I've banned like one person in total since I became da supervisor here and I don't really try to work that way, all I ask is that you try to post here in a fashion that makes people want to read what you're written.

If your posts are getting deleted its generally for a reason.

Read the threads before you think, think before you write and support my patreon before you post.

Again, the aim with anything I do is to try and increase the quality of posts. This includes cutting down on noise where possible while not trying to exclude people outright from the discussions here by banning them.

I just want to mention how great it is to have separate threads for certain events (especially in the past week) since it lets people sperg and shitpost to their hearts desire there leaving the general thread a bit cleaner.

If you are a detractor and you "troll tip/cheer", you are supporting him. Its extremely stupid and you are feeding his pockets. He doesnt even read it on streams anymore and whatever your message might be, you wont expose him in a lie or make him admit to anything. He will likely not respond or feed you more shit. STOP IT.

I took 15 mins (Been really bored today) and made a breakdown of the DSP General thread by year, the results are quite interesting, format is [pages] (posts):

2013: [1-15] (#1 to #291)
2014: [15-58] (#292 to #1158)
2015: [58-278] (#1159 to #5541)
2016: [278-878] (#5542 to #17553)
2017: [878-2097] (#17554 to #41935)
2018: [2097-Current] (#41936 to Current)

You will note that the page count per year EXPLODED in 2016, and the trend is still going upwards. The current & last year account for roughly 70% of the thread.. Not to mention the supporters/detractors threads as well.
2017 details added in. @neger psykolog

Holy shit! I thought 2016 was the year that DSP-watching became mainstream, but 2017 saw a %138.8 growth in page count (as in more than double 2016 pages), this is not even mentioning the other rapidly-growing threads in this subforum, like the Mystery Woman thread, the BSV debate circular discussion and BSV's own thread.

:stress:
